Astral Villa is one of the nicest homes on St. John to gather family or friends together. It combines Astral Ridge and Astral Cottage into a beautiful three bedroom home by converting the sitting room in the cottage into either a king size bed or two twin beds. The setting is quiet and private, surrounded by tropical plantings and the amenities are incomparable. Two full sized hot tubs and a pool invite visitors to linger in this recently completed home. A beautiful mahogany kitchen is perfectly equipped to prepare group meals. A second open air kitchen (under roof and fully screened but open to the surrounding gardens and native plants) provides a quiet spot for early risers to fix breakfast or for those who want to mix some solitude into their vacation. The lovely dining room, situated in a screened-in porch, is large enough for groups but has a warm appeal and a very inviting conversation area overlooking the sea. All three bedrooms are private and boast their own covered porches.

The Coral Bay location of Astral Villa is ideal in that it provides the visitor with quiet seclusion while still being close to restaurants and beaches. There are six different restaurants within two miles of the villa ranging from ultra-casual beachside cafes to fine dining. Salt Pond Beach is a few minutes further and offers one of the finest swimming options on the island. Kayaking, sailing, hiking and snorkeling are all nearby and snorkeling gear is provided for your use.

Spectacular view

We rented the Villa, which includes Astral Cottage and Astral Ridge. There is a spectacular view of Coral Bay and many islands off to the east, owing to the location high on a steep hill. The driveway is steep and rugged, but not too daunting after one or two trips. The Villa is incredibly well designed. There is no AC, but except for a few hours in the mid afternoon the house stays comfortable due to many screened windows, a constant breeze and fans. It is great for relaxing, especially since it is casually decorated. We spent a lot time on the deck and in the adjacent screened in living area, both of which view the bay. Can't wait to go back. My older (18-22yrs) children loved it

Amazing Island Home

Truly breathtaking out of this world slice of paradise. Nestled up on Calabash overlooking the Coral Bay area is one of the best kept secrets. This is our 7th year back to Astral Ridge and we are still in awe everytime we walk down the steps. We normally rent just the lower villa because it's just the two of us but we've rented the entire property and would do it all over again if we needed to. The villas are beautifully decorated. The kitchens are stocked with everything you could possibly want to cook with. The views are out of this world. The nice thing about this location is it's totally private, even if you only rent one of the villas you can rest assured that you will have total privacy, the only thing you share is the driveway. The upper villa can't see the lower and the lower can't see the upper, and because of the beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs there is no noise from the individual villas. Astral Ridge is our home away from home and we would highly recommend it to others. We look forward to going back again in 2013.

Perfect, just perfect!

My partner and I have stayed at Astral for several years now and I can't tell you what a treat it is to go back each time- it feels like home away from home. We usually rent the Villa and bring a few friends, it is truly a perfect rental- private, beautiful, well-appointed (comes with everything you need!) Fill up the cooler with drinks, BBQ, and head to the beach- it doesn't get any better! Salt Pond is close by and perfect for a sunset dip- Maho, Cinnamon, and the other great beaches are close by. Susan takes care of everything, from the rental jeep to escorting you to the property if it is your first time. Wake up in the master bedroom to flowers and a view of the British Virgin Islands that is to die for! I would (and have) highly recommended Astral Villa to anyone looking to book a vacation in St. John!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
