Our House is estate quality on two and a half acres. Very private and secluded, not visible from the road. It is adjacent to 90 acres of oak forest and vineyards. It is located approximately 72 miles north of San Francisco in Healdsburg, California. The most picturesque and prestigious wine country valley in Sonoma County. Enjoy Wine Country events and entertainment year-round. The main house overlooks the Dry Creek Valley. Our house is set approximately 30 feet above the valley, and provides a totally private environment with a large 24 x 45-foot solar-heated swimming pool and a luxury tiled spa. The jacuzzi spa comfortably accommodates eight adults. The pool and spa are set in an expansive lawn. Above the peaceful and tranquil, resort-like lawn area is a large wrap-around terrace with vistas of the valley vineyards. The owners enjoy an open-door 'no appointment necessary' lifestyle in the country. Our house is fully equipped for this approach to life and entertainment.

Nestled in oaks and redwoods overlooking the dry creek valley vineyard. Health and fitness enthusiasts can enjoy a walk, run, or bicycle ride that starts at the koi pond, and continues down the driveway into miles of vineyards. Or a country stroll through the private landscaped grounds. Free-weights are available. Includes weekly housekeeping, which can be more frequent by arrangement. There is an off-site caretaker. The main house has a living room with a fireplace and lots of aromatic logs for cozy, romantic evenings by the fireplace. Amenities include a stereo with indoor/outdoor Bose speakers, a video player, and satellite TV. The dining area has a table that seats 10 to 12. The fully-equipped kitchen offers a 'joy of cooking' gas stove, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a freezer. The guest house offers separate entries for all four bedrooms. It features granite double showers with spacious vanity space. Full size refrigerator in the guest house kitchen.

Days of Wine and Roses

Imagine yourself surrounded by miles of vineyards as far as the eye can see, in a very private reteat in the Somona Valley.
The property is beuatiful and large enough to accomodate a large group. The main house and the guest house were nicely furnished and met all of our needs. The grounds were impeccably maintained by agardener who also saw to the inground pool and spa.
Sonoma is a laid back town with literally dozens of wineries within a few miles of the property. there are also many great shops and restaurants to visit in the town of Healdsburg.
The owners greeted us personally and showed us around, and then they left us to enjoy ourselves. They were so warm and welcoming that we all felt right at home.
They even have a beautiful rose garden where we picked fresh flowers to fill the house.
Nothing beats a day of tasing fine wines, followed by great food on one of the outdoor terraces, and a nightcap in the spa under the stars. It was probably the most relaxing week I have ever spent. I would highly recommend this property for groups of adults who enjoy good food, good wine and the company of good friends.

Wine Country Retreat

Four couples stayed in this Dry Creek Valley retreat during Passport Weekend, 2009. Perfectly situated for enjoying vineyards during the day, as well as day trips to the coastal beaches and inland redwood forests.

At the end of the day, we would return to "our" home to find all the comforts of home (and much more). The kitchen has everything you need to cook a gourmet dinner; outdoor grills add to the possibilities, as do the herbs growing on the property.

There are light, airy common spaces as well as secluded nooks both indoors and out so that we never, ever felt on top of each other when we needed some quiet time.

For a bicyclist, it is heaven to leave from the front door and escape through the narrow, tree-lined lanes.

All eight of us recommend this property for a short or extended stay.

Several members of our immediate and extended family stayed at this property when we traveled to the Russian River Valley for the wedding of our youngest daughter. The accommodations were excellent: spacious, quietly elegant, fully sufficient to our needs. The beauty of the grounds and surrounding area is exceptional, and the privacy of the property is a significant plus.

Can't wait for our annual stay

Every year for the past 8 years, we have planned an annual weekend getaway to the Healdsburg area for friends and family for a weekend of fun and wine tasting. 3 years ago, we were lucky to stumble upon Our House and fell in love with the property. Our annual group of 12 was really taken with how relaxing and comfortable the house was and couldn't believe how well suited the property was to our needs. Its location, right in the middle of the Dry Creek Valley, can't be beat for those looking for a weekend getaway in the wine country. And the owners, Jim and Viola, help to make sure that your stay is as pleasant and enjoyable as a weekend getaway should be. We loved the house so much, that we have been back every year since (3 years running) and hope to continue coming back annually for years to come.

Talk about over delivering. What a wonderful home and property. Comfort and charm is what this is all about. We all felt that we were in the South of France. Everything you could possible need for a terrific vacation is here. Lovely, comfortable and stylish bedrooms, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, large living area with fireplace, lots of open space and seating areas, incredible views, gorgeous terrace for al fresco dining, large pool and hot tub all surrounded by everything Sonoma has to offer. This is a 10 on a 10 point scale and Viola and Jim , the owners, are just great. Don't think twice about this one, you won't find anything better.
