Mill Pond cottage is a cozy, secluded, two-bedroom home, located on beautiful Arrowsic Island. It's surrounded by the Kennebec, Sasanoa, and Back Rivers, and is just ten minutes south of historic Bath, Maine on Rt. 127. The cottage is situated on five acres of secluded woodland with 300+ feet of shoreline on beautiful Mill Pond. This tidal saltwater marsh is a bird lover's paradise, and home to a wide variety of ducks, geese, gulls, great blue herons, osprey, and an occasional bald eagle. The marsh opens onto Hockomock Bay, and provides excellent opportunities for kayaking and canoeing. In the morning you might be awakened by the gobbling of turkeys or the cooing of morning doves or you could be serenaded in the evening by a local coyote family and/or the abundant owl population. During the day you may want to simply relax on the screened porch and read a book -- or nap.
Or you can take a short hike to Sewall Pond, a lovely freshwater pond where you can take a dip to cool off or wet a line to sample it's excellent pan fishery. If you're inclined to catch some sun at the beach, Reid State Park is a short ten-mile drive. Or you can cycle down the peninsula. On the way back you might want to stop at Five Island's Lobster Company to sample a freshly prepared lobster while watching lobstermen maneuver among the islands, tending their traps. If you enjoy boating, Robinhood Marine Center is just five miles down the road in Georgetown. It's a full-service facility. There's great shopping in historic Bath, Freeport, or Booth Bay Harbor -- a ten- to thirty-minute drive away. Other nearby activities include enjoying sailing/island tours, and whale-, puffin-, and seal-watching. Also nearby is the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, summer theatre in Brunswick, and great restaurants like the famous Cook's Lobster or Dolphin House.
We just returned from a wonderful stay at Ginny and Bob's cottage. This cottage was perfect - sparkling clean, fully appointed, and situated in a secluded wood overlooking salt marshlands. The back porch was our favorite spot to sit and gaze at the low/high tides and listen to the birds. Ginny and Bob are perfect hosts - friendly and helpful - and we enjoyed their studio tour and we brought back many fine items of pottery. If we return to Maine, we will definitely be calling to secure another stay at this lovely cottage.
The description was accurate, property super clean and in fantastic condition. CS was superb, layout, quality of fixtures excellent.
Great view, very peaceful, great owners, would recommend property to anyone, except little families w/little kids or people who do not respect the property. We kayaked, beached, hiked, read, ate lobster the whole time. Privacy galore, but close to Bath, Boothbay, Brunswick, Bailey Island, Freeport. We're going back this year for two weeks.

This property is located on a beautiful tidal saltwater marsh with lots of wildlife. The marsh is constantly changing along with the tides. Birds fish in the pools created daily during tidal changes. This is a fascinating, quiet spot and the stars are outstanding!
