We choose to build our home on a secluded beach to be away from the usual tourist scene.
The Artistry at Adagio Bahamas Beach Cottage is by resident paper maker and artist Del Foxton. Visits to the studio and workshop are available by appointment.
We had a wonderful honeymoon week at Adagio Cottage. The house is lovely and cozy, the beach and water spectacular and all the locals friendly. Go to Diamond Sunrise and have conch fritters. Ask Doris about events on the island and where to find the best local food. Have a Bahama Mama while you chat. We recommend the day trip to Peterson's Cay for kayaking and snorkeling. Chad is a great guide if you can get him. Best of all is the restful, quiet and beautiful Adagio and all that comes with it. Thanks to Del and Bill for warm hospitality, a bottle of champagne and a special sand dollar. We're taking back fond memories as well as a suitcase full of beach treasures.
We had a wonderful two weeks at Adagio. Bill and Del ensured we had everything we needed. The beach is amazing - we did lots of beachcombing and found great stuff. The view is fantastic. It is quiet, secluded and secure.
Total rest and relaxation with all the comfort of home.
Beautiful beach, wonderful hosts, gorgeous water. So glad we found this little hideaway! We will recommend this gem. It was nice to do nothing but watch the water and walk the beach. Thank you for letting us bother you with all our questions, Bill and Del!!
Bob and I were thrilled with the accomodations at Adagio! What a find! We spent a week here and couldn't have been happier with the house itself, Del and Bill, and the locals in the area. Everyone went out of there way to help us and we would highly recommend this if you are interested in a place to get away from it all! Don't come here looking for night life, but come here just to relax! We can't wait to come back next year!
Adagio Cottage was all that it was advertised to be!. Our hosts were responsive, generous, and allowed us much privacy! The beautiful artwork on the walls was only surpassed by the absolutely gorgeous view of the ocean from the cottage. We will never forget the sound of the ocean, the feel of the breeze, and the complete tranquility we experienced staying at Adagio Cottage. We would definitely return and heartily recommend it to friends and family who really wanted to get away. My sister and I lived on Grand Bahama Island in the early 60's and our recent return to the island was a nostalgic trip in memory of our parents. Adagio made the whole thing perfect.
My husband and I have stressful jobs ( who doesn't?) and we were looking for a place to relax and reconnect. Adagio Beach exceeded our expectations. We awoke each day in our pretty bedroom with a beautiful view of the sea and fell asleep each night listening to the crashing waves.
We were able to walk on the beach for miles during low tide on the sand bars. The contrast between the white sand and blue green sea is spectacular....breathtaking!
The beach cottage is absolutely charming and filled with beautiful artwork. It is stocked with everything you need including satellite tv and wifi. The cottage is located about 45 minutes from town. Just perfect for us as our goal was to "get away from it all." in fact, we laughed and said it was our own private "Blue Lagoon.". There are two places close by to enjoy a dinner of fresh fish and the proprietors are colorful and friendly characters. If you want more action, you can travel to Freeport to shop and dine out. In my opinion, the best of both worlds!
Del and Bill were extremely helpful. We received emails prior to leaving giving us information on car rentals, where to pick up groceries, and travel tips. They were available to us for any questions during the week but left us alone to explore and enjoy their slice of paradise. They provided everything we needed, beach chairs, a hammock to lounge in, gas grill and even a fire pit on the beach.
I will always remember my trip to Adaigo Beach and will remain thankful to Dell and Bill for sharing such a magical place with us.
We were looking for a quiet place where we could escape cold weather and really relax. Adagio was ideal. We woke each day with a view of the ocean. We saw almost no one. It was an easy drive to town to get groceries. We rented a car from Millie's, and that worked out well. The cottage was private, clean and modern. We had a great escape from our over-busy lives. Nothing could have better.
