Where is the bedroom?

The location and decor were wonderful. The owners left nice welcome goodies in the refrig. The problem with this wonderful unit is that it is NOT a one bedroom. There is no bedroom. It is a giant room with sofa, bed, desk and closet. For one or 2 people ( a couple) it is fine. But it was advertised as a one bedroom! The listing descriptionwas notconsistent withthe VRBO desription.
I had planned to stay there with my adult son and his partner. We get along great but we were not all camping out in one room; they had to subsequently go to a hotel. When I spoke to the owner he pretty much at least agreed there was no bedroom, but did not understand it was a problem for 3 adults to sleep in one room.

The noise level in the afternoon and mornings was very high. 66th street is a pretty busy street.

I would stay there again given the location and the safe neighborhood, as well as across t street from the park. I at least would know what I was getting!
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: In All fairness you made the reservation as a 1 adult guest and in fact we even offered the price at the low rate thinking it was just 1 adult visiting. We would have never recommended you to have an adult son and his partner stay along with you had we known that was your intention. As for noise Manhattan is a noisy place however, by comparison it is still one of the quieter apartments around in this location.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend getaway in this delightful apartment. The location was perfect on a quiet, tree lined street - close to the park, shopping, local cafes, and subway stations. We felt like locals in the trendy upper east side of Manhattan. Vir was totally responsive to calls and emails concerning logistics, arrival, and departure. The apartment has all of the necessities plus extras like breakfast food for the first morning, attractive decor, sunlight, and yummy linen sheets. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends visiting NYC.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Convenience but a bit noisy

The location of the apartment is excellent, right next to Central Park and close to subway. We can walk to many places.

We drove from DC to NYC and stayed in this apartment for two nights. Because of the traffic jam, we arrived at the apartment late but we had called the owner in advance to let him know. When we arrived, we felt that the owner wasn't too nice to us. The kitchen is small so we could not cook there. During the night, the garbage trucks were noisy and the draper was thin so the light came through very early in the morning.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car
Owner's Response: That is completely unfair, you told us you will arrive at 3PM and we waited at the apartment till 7PM with no email and/or phone call from you. We followed up with you at 4:30PM and you stated you will be there shortly and eventually showed up at approx. 7PM after us following up with you several times though you did not make the courtesy of calling us you are OK and delayed. Please realize we have normal jobs and Manhattan is the most expensive city when it comes to time, we cannot devote 5 hours of our day just to get you in the apartment. We state very clearly there is no concierge service and expect common courtesies from our guests.

Perfect Location for a New York City Visit

The apartment, which is basically a studio, was just right for our stay in NYC. It had a nice size bathroom with a small kitchen, that was just right for making a simple breakfast. It is was sparkling clean with a terrific location. Located between 5th and Madison at 66th, it was close to shops, museums and wonderful restaurants. Vir answered all of our questions and we enjoyed working with him. We hope to stay there again!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Romantic Getaway

Great location and well maintained apartment!

I can't believe I found such a gem! Although some of the pictures on this listing were not of the apartment I rented, it didn't matter, it was the perfect size. As well, the elevator could fit two strollers and four people, so it was a good size!

I had a little one with me, so walking was my main method of transport and this location was perfect. It is literally a two second walk to Central Park (right at the Zoo) and not even a 15 minute walk into downtown (Apple Store, Uniqlo).

I especially appreciated Viren's quick e-mail responses to my many questions prior and during my visit. I hope this apartment will be available again during my next visit to NYC! Trust me, well worth the cost!
