If you want a quiet, restful vacation in a small friendly community, come to Silver Lake. We're located in the heart of Michigan -- about ten miles west of Clare, Michigan. The area offers many activities including horseback riding, canoeing, casinos, roller skating, movies, and shopping. Visit Amish country and enjoy the many craft shows throughout the seasons.

The kids will enjoy the swing and slides nearby in the community park. And they'll enjoy swimming in our spring-fed lake. Charcoal grills and picnic tables are also available in the park pavilion.

There are many tourist areas such as Mackinaw Island, Frankenmuth (famous for the chicken dinners and Bronners Christmas House), and Ludington (amusement parks) -- all within a two-hour drive.

Golf Courses in the area include Eagle Glen (Farwell), Firefly (Clare), Snow Snake (Harrison), and Tamarack (Harrison).

The famous Jays Sporting Goods is located just 15 to 20 minutes away.

Location: Northern Michigan < Michigan < USA

My Property is located near the city of Farwell which is in the middle of the state. I am only 3-4 miles from Lake George. Many lakes to visit , craft shows, the Amish flea market and auction is held at the end of May (the week-end before Memorial week-end) and the 1st of Sept (weekend before Labor day week-end) This is a must attend with a large selection of beautiful quilts up for auction. I have had many travelers from Indiana, Ohio and Illinois.

Sunsets are world class!! Great all sports lake.

I have stayed at this cottage many times, Each year the owner makes improvements. This year it is new paint, a deck facing the lake, and the removal of some trees that blocked the great views. The lake is large enough to do anything you want, but during the week it is like you have it all to yourself. There is a small park with swings etc... across the street and a small public beach and boat launch next door. I have seen all types of clients rent this gem. ( Families young and old, couples and friends)
For the money this is a steal!!!

A place to get away from it all!!!

We just got back home and I miss it already. We were a family with a 5 and 7 year old. The cabin is stocked with everything you need, as the owner says bring food and clothes and you are all set. We fished everyday and caught a lot of bluegills, perch and bass (I don't even like to fish, but it was fun on this lake) It is close enough to shopping and dining. GREAT swimming area, (*which is right next door) very quiet and very homey. During the week it seems as if it is your private lake. The owner is terrific. It was out first year, but it won't be our last. Thanks for a great vacation.

Wonderful family retreat

My Wife and I brought our two daughters, 6 and 8 to the cabin for a getaway... the owner also let us bring our two small dogs. The whole area was gorgeous and the lakeside community was friendly.
The owner will go out of her way to make sure you have a wonderful experience at her little getaway. She was wonderful to the children too!
The cabin was clean and comfortable with all the necessities and then some!
Fishing on the lake was excellent, including room for my 17' Deep V Boat with private pier.
The beach next door is where the kids played every day, very sandy and well kept.
I will make a point to make it up to her retreat again next year, what a wonderful experience

Silver lake cabin

We had a wonderful time at this very comfortable, homey cabin. It has a good beach, boat ramp to launch a boat and paddle and row boats come with it. The owner is very hospitable and will give you advice about the area and so forth. We will come back next summer!
