Not what was advertised
This house was advertised as having four bedrooms...it didn't mention that one was a wide hallway at the top of the stairs. There is no water trampoline. The place is so secluded that the other activities are all 2+ hours away. The only thing to do was to fish and sit at the beach. Do not go here if you want to enjoy a large variety of activities.
Owner's Response: Our guest had two over the limit of the house. I did not charge her the extra $200. The bedroom in question has a closet, dresser, and a queen bed.
The water tramp was misused as a fishing platform and got a hook in it. We obtained a much larger floating dock with a ladder that cost $ 500 more. At home we provide kayaks, paddle boat, canoe, and fishing boats with a motor. We have a walking trail that leads to the Upper Herring, which can be walked around. It is marshy lake but great for fishing.
The comment that everything is 2 hours away is ridiculous! All these items have literature in the house. 7 minutes away are rental for wind surfing, bikes, boggy boards, skates, motorcycles. There are 2 lighthouses, with one giving tours and 2 boat docks to walk. There is a restored theater, a drive in theater, Interlochen with guest artists, and 2 state of the art playgrounds. There are walking trails as well as bike trails for 40 miles and going around the bay. Horseback riding, and charter fishing. 15 minutes away is a National Park, Sleeping Bear Dunes with a museum, and rated #1 by Good Morning America. There is another 2 museums, one in Frankfort and Arcadia. There are 6 golf courses and 1 miniature golf courses. 18 restaurants, 6 gift shops, 5 clothing shops. Two outdoor farmers markets. 6 other lakes in the area, one local winery and 2 other different outlets. A children’s nature center with animals, Gwen Frostig studio, and Alpaca farm and outlet. There are tennis courts, basketball, and beach volleyball. There is a beautiful library that looks on the bay and 4 parks, two with fishing. There are 2 major streams for kayaking or tubing with rental into Lake Michigan. . There are 4500 acres of conservancy- home two 200 rare plants, with walking, biking and platforms for views of dunes and Lake Michigan.
The week she was there these events occurred. Michigan legacy concert, another in Frankfort. Festival of Bear Lake. Ramsdell theater concert, block party in Frankfort, Cherry Smorgesbord, Port City Run, and Arts and Crafts Show.
