Beautiful home. Perfect location

  • 5 of 5
This home is perfectly located...walking distance to Bellevue Avenue shopping area or Thames Street for the Museum, eateries or boat watching. Newly remodeled with stainless appliances and fully equipped kitchen. Two bedroom, two and one half bath. Outstanding deck on the second floor with butler pantry attached. The deck is a wonderful place for morning coffee or a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. I highly recommend this property. We hope to return again again soon!!

Great Location, Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5
Our stay could not have been better. Everything about the house is exceptional! A terrific location that puts you within easy walking distance to all Newport has to offer. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The rooftop terrace was wonderful. We did not want to leave!

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay Kay and group ! I chose this home because of the great location and always hope my guests will
take advantage of Newport as a walking town, part of it's charm!
I am glad you were interested in the history of the house which built in 1868 was originally was a two family and later had a bakery in the back. When I purchased it in 2005, what is now the great room was a cinder block room with a flat low ceiling and no windows!!!
The house was completely stripped on the inside down to the floor joists and the wall studs. I wanted to preserve the exterior which is, by the way, mandated in the historic district. What is now the roof terrace on the second floor was a caving in flat roof. I added the butler's kitchen to ease the use of the rooftop terrace and it worked out great. I recently learned that this house as well as the house to the left of mine were the boarding houses for the Newport Opera House, now under renovation. The Opera House was a vaudeville house at the time. As funding permits it will once again become a center for live entertainment. I hope you will return as your travels permit, Best, Helen Harris

Excellent accommodation in Newport!

  • 5 of 5
This lovely little house was perfect for our visit to Newport. It is spotlessly clean, well-appointed in every possible way, and wonderfully located. We parked our car (parking is provided, and that is a HUGE advantage here) and walked to multiple oceanside restaurants, shops, mansions and the cliff walk. The rooftop deck is ideal for coffee in the morning and a sip of wine before dinner. We felt as though "home" had moved to a new location and were able to relax completely and concentrate on some serious fun!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay and lived like Newporter's for a few days! That is what is so great about renting a home vs hotel you get to feel like you actually live in different places! Hope to have you stay again in the future, Best, Helen Harris

Location and luxury

  • 5 of 5
This was a perfect location for two active couples who enjoy walking, exploring the town, and dining out. It is walking distance from the dock where ferries leave from, from where historical tours begin, and from many restaurants. Given the kinds of activities we enjoy, it was great to be able to leave the car parked all week. The house itself is very comfortable, well equipped, and beautifully appointed. The rooftop deck and the great room are wonderful spots to relax at the end of the day. Helen is a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend the home to like-minded visitors to Newport.

Beautiful Home & Great Location!!!

Beautiful Home & Great Location!!!
  • 5 of 5
This home was beautiful! My husband and I, along with our grown children enjoyed everything about this wonderfully renovated home. We loved the well- stocked kitchen with the huge island that was open to the family room. We enjoyed the huge rooftop deck for relaxing with cocktails and grilling. We found ourselves eating in more than we usually do because we wanted to enjoy this great home! The butler's pantry off of the deck was so unique - we used it all the time! The location of the home is perfect - we walked to the wharfs, restaurants and shops. Our cars were parked most of the time! We have rented many nice homes for summer vacations in previous years but nothing compares to Helen's beautifully decorated home that our family had the pleasure of enjoying this summer :-)
