Bill and Suzie Anderson moved to Platte Lake in 2005. Bill is a managment consultant and retired college administrator. Suzie is a retired RN and master gardner and operates a garden design and maintenance business.
We have vacationed in this area our entire lives. This property has been in Suzie's family since the late 1920's while Bill's family has owned property since 1905 located just 15 minutes away on beautiful Lower Hering Lake. For many years our dream was to retire to this area. Our lakehouse home is a makeover of the original cottage and has been included on the annual Charity Tour of Interesting Places.
Platte Lake is a very quiet low traffic all sports lake with a beautiful wildlife preserve located at the east end where we live. We can leave our home in kayaks and in 10 minutes be enjoying the solitude and beauty of the Platte River while others are enjoying water sports on the lake. Three golf courses are located within a ten minute drive and Traverse City is just 25 miles away. It's no wonder that many prefer to call this 'God's Country'.
