Overview

Boone Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Crazy Moose is a great family cabin! Looking for a winter retreat...we are 5 minutes from Hawksnest Tubing Park and from 20-35 minutes from 3 ski areas, Beech, Sugar and Appalachian. Come back from a day of fun, hit the hot tub then relax on the back porch. Crazy Moose Cabin has 3 levels - the bottom level has a full bath and a bedroom with a queen bed and sliding glass doors going out to the deck with a hot tub. In the bottom floor common area are a set of bunks, 2 sofa's, a game table and gas fireplace. It is fully stocked with board games for all ages. This area has a large TV that can be used for gaming.

The upper level has a full bath and a bedroom with a queen bed and a sofa in the sitting area.

On the main level is another bedroom/full bath off the kitchen with a queen bed. Kitchen is completely stocked with all your cooking and baking needs. The dining room table seats 8 comfortably with 2 additional chairs that can be used to seat 10. Over the dining room table hangs a beautiful antler chandelier which adds to the cabin atmosphere. Also on the main level is a wood burning fireplace with comfy furniture. There are no steps to access the main level - other than the step up on the porch.

The back deck off the main living area has a picnic table large enough for 8-10 people, 4 gliders and a gas grill. Plenty of room to relax while dinner is grilling.

Dogs are welcome with owners approval and additional security. We welcome large dogs, too!

Lot of outdoor stuff to do - google Boone Chamber and click on 'Boone Convention & Visitors Bureau' - then 'Things to do' or 'Calendar'. Come to see the fall color change - it's amazing! About Liz Cassella

Andy and I live in sunny Florida so we love to spend time in the mountains. We have 3 kids and between high school and college breaks we still manage to spend several long family weekends in the mountains.

Liz Cassella purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Liz Cassella chose Boone

The area between Boone and Banner Elk is beautiful. In the summer there is lots to do, hiking, biking, rafting and zip lining. Fall season brings the beautiful autumn colors on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the winter there is snow tubing, skiing and ice skating. The picture of Andy and I was taken before a hike around Sims Pond.

Crazy Moose was Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

For the past 6 years of our 12 year marriage, my wife and I rent a place in the mountains to go for a days to unwind and spend with just each other. Crazy Moose was a perfect place for us this year. It is not located too far from Boone or Blowing Rock. Not far from Sugar or Beech Mountain where you can do some awesome skiing. If you are the adventurous type, you are minutes away from Hawksnest. Hawksnest is where you can go Ziplining or tubing. Grandfather Mountain is right up the road. The original Mast General Store is only a hop, skip and a jump from the cabin. You only about 20 minutes from the outlet mall where many of the name brand stores are located. Daniel Boone restaurant is convent. The house itself is very cozy. It has plenty of room for small to large gathering (12 people comfortable). The hot tub is very nice with a beautiful view of the mountains. Cell phone signal is limited, which is a bonus for those wanting to unplug. It has a very nice gas grill and large picnic table to enjoy your meal outside. The game room is equipped with a flat panel tv, DVDs, and board games. Washer and dryer is available to help reduce laundry when you get back home. The decor of the house makes it feel comfortable. I would recommend this house to anyone that enjoys the mountains.

Spring break in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in a beautiful cabin. Three master bedrooms allows everyone their own space.

The hot tub was great and the views were amazing.

Grandfather mountain was such a great experience.

We loved our stay and wish we were back at the Crazy Moose cabin!

Great place!!

Great place for gathering of family! Grandkids enjoyed the cabin with log fire each night, watching the deer, and other wild life. Plenty of room, cooking utensils, etc. Look forward to another visit! Just a beautiful place to go!

Came for a long weekend with family, loved it! Comfortably slept 9 (although not all couples had complete privacy). Well-stocked kitchen, everything very clean, comfortable beds, great hot tub.

Crazy Moose lodge was a perfect home away from home vacation. Cozy, comfy and it had all the amenities that allowed us to gave an amazing family vacation. The hot tub was a real treat given the beautiful weather and views we had from the deck. We can't wait to go back!

Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

We booked Crazy Moose for a long weekend celebrating a birthday. The cabin was in a great location, close to Boone and Blowing Rock (using the back roads, saved us at least 20 minutes to Blowing Rock - find the directions in the cabin notebook), the neighborhood made for good (huff puff) walking. A bedroom and bath on each floor gave our party of 5 privacy! The cabin was well stocked with our needs, and decorated for the fall, which was a delight. The back decks provided great scenery and the hot tub was delicious after a long Creeper Trail bike ride.

The only complaint we had was the internet was nonexistent, on the upside everybody put away there electronics and enjoyed one another! I would highly recommend the cabin for comfortable and great place to stay while in the mountains!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review! We do pay extra to Charter Communications for high speed internet - but sometimes we are just at the mercy of the mountains!
