Beautiful setting for a relaxing vacation. 2 quaint Maine cottages located on South Freeport Harbor and Casco Bay with views over the islands and open water. We will only rent to one party at a time so you are guaranteed privacy. The cabins are only 50 feet from the waters edge with complete privacy and unobstructed views.
The cottages each have a living room area (one with queen sofa bed), a kitchen and eating area and each has one bedroom with new queen bed.
One cottage has beautiful knotty pine walls and a 3/4 bath. The second cottage was completely refurbished in 2010 with new maple floors and custom cabinets, new 3/4 bathroom and new expanded bedroom. Cabins have access to a private dock .
Located in the historic fishing village of South Freeport. Walk to a lobster dinner at the town dock or explore the Maine coastline by foot or by boat.
Easy access to the shopping mecca of Freeport and the LL Bean flagship. LL Bean bases a sea kayaking school right in the harbor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cottage. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the peaceful setting and most of all the sea; all served to frame our Maine vacation.
The pictures do no justice in how awesome this cottage is. The cottage felt like home. The dock is just steps away from the cottage. We hanged out on the dock on our first night and almost every night. The moon was bright and had a cool breeze. We could just camp on that dock :) The cottage is very clean and comfortable. It has a nice full kitchen. Everything is close by grocery stores, breweries, restaurants and hiking trails. If you like shopping, the outlet mall and LL Bean are just a short drive. South Freeport road is a nice road to run/bike. There are barely any cars on the road and we saw plenty of people running and biking. Stephanie and John are wonderful hosts. They gave us good recommendations on restaurants and hiking trails. Even though they were just a few steps away, we felt that we had our privacy. If you need them they’re there but if not they just leave you be. Our trip to Freeport wouldn't have been this fun and relaxing if we have stayed somewhere else. I definitely recommend staying at their cottage.
Harbor Cottage is delightful, as are its owners, Stephanie and John. The listing perhaps undersells the place: I was unprepared for how picturesque the setting really was, perched on a hill over the Harraseeket Harbor -- and unprepared for how quiet and private the location is. No traffic on the road above, quiet neighbors on either side, privacy from the owners' main house. The cottage itself is clean, tidy, well appointed, filled with light; from the dining table you can watch the boats on the harbor. The dock down at water's edge is a great place to take your morning coffee, mid-day meal, evening wine. The kitchen was remarkably well equipped, which was great since we like to cook for ourselves. But if you're not so inclined, downtown Freeport is less than 4 miles away, with plenty of restaurants and shops. Azure Cafe right on Main Street has great calamari, excellent fish and chips, and a lovely terrace for the warmer weather. For groceries, gourmet foods, great meats and wines, Bow Street Market is 8 minutes away, a straight shot up South Freeport Road: they sell Pineland Farms natural beef, incredible sticky buns some mornings (call ahead to inquire!), pulled pork (Thursdays), and they offer the best wine selection for miles around. Check out the beer and cider offerings, too. Summer through October nearby Brunswick has a farmers market downtown on the Mall, Tuesdays and Fridays 8am-2pm. Duck eggs, incredible produce, flowers and more. And no stay at Harbor Cottage would be complete without a visit to the nearby (walking distance!) Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster, right on the public dock of South Freeport. Get a real taste of Maine, then retreat back to the cottage and take a nap. By the end of your vacation you will have no more stress! We certainly didn't!
We stayed in the upper cottage with the porch overlooking the harbor. The cottage was very clean and nicely appointed. There is a kayak and bicycle rental place withing 1/2 mile (Ring's Marina) that supplied us with very nice daytrip kayaks that can be paddled from the marina right to the private dock at high tide. We were out every day, there is so much to see and do here. Tons of little islands to visit and lots or wildlife. Or if a change is needed, there are hiking trails withing easy walking distance, and plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. The scenery is just gorgeous, stunning views of boats, islands and wildlife. The owners couldn't be nicer and were very accommodating. We will definitely be coming back!
