Hello,

So nice to meet you. I take pride in our second home here at Lake Tahoe. It is a nice quiet place that we have owned for 25 years. We love it and I hope you do too. Please take the time to read the reviews. Photo above is snowboarding at Homewood - the best lake views!

Lee Williams purchased this cabin in 1988

Location, Location, Location! We wanted a family neighborhood with flat access in the winter. With in walking distance to Tahoe City which is the quiet part of the lake (no casinos and the related problems & noises). We are at the entrance to the Truckee River for rafting, biking paths and single track entrance to Paige Meadows is on the next corner street. Nice sunny front deck. World class skiing in the winter and everything to do in the summer. What else can I say?

Quietness, nice neighborhood of great people, sunny deck, great location to a host of outdoor activities, close to the lake and commons beach. Walk to Tahoe House (the best coffee and bakery in all of Tahoe) Forget about Starbucks! Sunnyside, Jakes on the Lake, Rosies, Firesign Cafe, Wolfdales, River Ranch, and more great places to eat nearby if you don't want to cook. Come up just to hang out or do it all!

COMFORTABLE, CLEAN AND EXCELLENT LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
This was our first time renting a vacation home from someone we did not know and we were slightly hesitant, but Lee was absolutely amazing. He was prompt to respond to all questions and he made the entire process a simple and enjoyable one. When we entered the Getaway Chalet we immediately felt like it was a home full of love. That might sound silly, but it really did have a great vibe.

Everything was clean, which was very important to us. My daughter and I have pet allergies, and I was slightly concerned about this being a pet friendly home, but neither of us had even the slightest hint of allergies during our stay. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for cooking and everything was in perfect working condition. The garage had snow toys for our use, which was really nice. Although there wasn't much snow, our kids still managed to use the saucers to go down a small little hill of snow right in the front yard and they had a blast. The decks on the property were very nice and we really enjoyed sitting on the swing in the backyard and just enjoying the beautiful scenery.

This home was in an excellent location. It is very close to sledding hills, Tahoe City and the lake. My husband and I discussed making this an annual vacation spot because we just had the best time. Absolutely looking forward to our next trip to the Getaway Chalet!

GETAWAY CHALET

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at this home. Walked to town easily, walked to Common Beach easily. We brought our two small dogs which was great. There isn't a fence around the property so you do have to keep your eye on them. The deck around the house was awesome - great for sitting outside and enjoying the day/night. Rooms were perfect. Very well stocked supplies. Nothing negative to say about this place!

THE BEST PLACE TO BE IN TAHOE CITY

  • 5 of 5
I could have not asked more than what we found in this lovely cabin in Tahoe City. We were a group with young kids and all had such a great time I just can not explain. The location of this property is absolutely in wonderful, everything is nearby, close to the downtown, yet you get the feeling of calm, peaceful neighborhood. The upstairs bed room with the Foosball was such a fun, the kids just loved it. The property owner was very nice throughout all the time right from renting the cabin, getting useful local area tips, and everything else. I can say for sure that, this has been my BEST EVER VRBO rental experience so far. Looking forward to stay in this property again in Summer. I have stayed in many places in North and South Tahoe, but this experience in Tahoe City was just the best of all.

FANTASTIC VACATION RENTAL

  • 5 of 5
I went here with another family, all together we were 5 adults and 2 toddlers, and there was plenty of room and communal space. The kitchen was very well designed with plenty of counterspace and eating room. We loved it and the location was perfect, close to skiing and also close to hiking and sledding. Also was great to work with the owner. Thanks so much!

PERFECT MULTI-FAMILY SKI TRIP!

  • 5 of 5
We just completed a four-night stay at the "Get Away Chalet" and are already considering planning another trip this season! Two couples with two kids each found this cabin the perfect size for enjoying all Lake Tahoe has to offer in February. The 8 year-olds developed an early skiing addiction after three days of Ski School at Homewood (just 10 minutes away) while parents enjoyed plenty of blues and blacks and inexpensive lift tickets. The 5 year-olds (and parents) enjoyed the fantastic sledding at Granlibakken, just 1/4 mile up the street from the cabin. Save-Mart 5 minutes away provided plenty of grocery (and inexpensive ski gear) shopping and adorable Tahoe City has loads of eating and shopping options for the whole family.

The kids loved having their own separate hangout upstairs with TV and foosball. We enjoyed the large kitchen and eating areas and found it perfect for hosting a small dinner party with other friends staying in the area. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of dishes, glasses and flatware, large pots for spaghetti or chili, and large capacity (12-cup) coffee pot. Many basics are also currently available (handsoap, dishsoap, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee filters, ziplocs and foil). If you go bring some extra TP and napkins. With your bath towels remember the bathmat (we forgot!)

There is a bathtub in the downstairs bathroom for the little ones, the non-slip mat is stored under the sink. Also if you have small children bring some plastic cups, the glassware at the cabin is large and heavy (we used the shotglasses to serve milk!) The beds are warm and there are plenty of extra blankets in the closets. Although we didn't need it, there is a highchair in the downstairs bedroom closet. Another thing the kids enjoyed...there is a front porch as well as a backyard fun for snow play, and even a cute wooden swing in the backyard that the kids "discovered"! The driveway and street approach are both very flat making winter driving easy. Salt is provided for any overnight ice that develops.

Lastly, I really enjoyed communicating with the owner, Lee, he is friendly and easily reachable via email. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Owner's Response: Thanks Judy for your great review. I am glad it worked for you but I am sorry that I forgot to tell you that all the extra paper goods are in the utility room cabinets. Guests really do not need to bring their own T.P.
Thanks,
Lee
