About this property

Eco-friendly water view retreat near Acadia National Park

Enjoy a cozy place to kick back after hiking or sightseeing. Located at the gateway to Mount Desert Island, we are out of the noise and traffic of Bar Harbor while convenient to Acadia National Park and shopping. You will have the downstairs unit of a duplex all to yourselves, with your own private entrance.

Relax on the porch, wander our brookside trail and the organic pollinator-friendly gardens. Keep an eye out for eagles, great blue herons, ducks, foxes and perhaps even a seal! Volta, an indoor rock-climbing gym, is within walking distance.

The tidal Jordan River is just steps from the back porch, and has a put-in for kayaks and canoes. It is a short paddle from here into Frenchman Bay with gorgeous views of Mount Desert Island. (You can order boats delivered by a local outfit ahead of time and keep them here during your stay.)

We are proud to be a green vacation rental. Certified as a National Wildlife Foundation native wildlife habitat and a Monarch Waystation. We are also active in our local Project Drawdown and have committed to reduce our carbon footprint. Our electricity and HVAC are powered by solar panels. We use green cleaners and non-toxic shampoo and conditioner. Our energy efficient heat pump has AC for those hot summer days.

This is a no-smoking facility. No smoking is allowed in the house or on the grounds.

Pet friendly
Please inquire if you would like to bring a pet. You may bring one well-behaved dog. We provide a dog bed and bowls to welcome your furry companion. There is an additional one-time nonrefundable $200 pet fee collected through the platform at the beginning of your stay.

Beautiful location over looking the Jordan river
Barb our host thought of everything for a enjoyable time at her lovely home. Really close to everything. She even gave us some great places to eat local as well in Bar Harbor. On the go from morning to night. Did not get to enjoy the desk or walking down to Jordan River.

The property was beautiful and the cabin was quaint and serene. Thank you for such great accommodations. Trenton is close to all the attractions and a stone's throw from Acacia National Park which we frequented often to participate in hikes, biking and watching sunsets.
