Vacation at South Seas Resort, Lands End, in a designer-decorated 2 bedroom Ocean front Condominium. This vacation home offers the best views on Captiva. The view from the living room, enclosed sun room, dining room, kitchen and balcony is breathtaking--with a sweeping vista of the Gulf of Mexico to Upper Captiva Island and across Pine Island sound. The second bedroom suite overlooks the green golf course lined with palm trees and the Gulf of Mexico twinkles on the horizon.
All of the rooms are decorated in spa colors for maximum
A few minutes walk brings you to a pristine
beach and there are beach chairs and umbrellas for your use. A large pool, hot tub, grills, tennis courts, small beach, and golf course are adjacent to the condominium. Excellent shelling and fishing await outside the back door. The resort marina and marina store/deli are a two minute walk from the condo. Captiva Cruises is based at the marina and offers daily sunset cruises, nature cruises, and cruises to Cayo Costa Island state park, Useppa and Cabbage Key islands with their historic resorts.
The condo has a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a washer/dryer are just off the kitchen. The living room and sunroom have new furniture, including a sofa sleeper, comfortable swivel chairs, and small table and chairs for extra eating space, or to use as a game table. The condo has Magnolia wood floors throughout the living areas and bedrooms, with tile baths.
There are three flat screen TVs with DVD players in the condo, cable and free wifi.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, spa tub, double shower, double sinks, skylights, with a spa decor. Its balcony is directly on Redfish Pass and has views of Upper Captiva Island, the Gulf of Mexico and the bay.
The second en suite bedroom has a full bath, twin beds, and a balcony overlooking the golf course and the Gulf of Mexico beyond. Each is comfortably punished with new, high quality mattresses on all beds. There is a portable crib in the unit.
South Seas Resort offers for rent some condos and hotel rooms. Renting through the resort provides inclusive amenities packages with daily user fees. The resort, however, does not own any Lands End units and those few in its leaseback program are outfitted differently than illustrated.
We appeal to people who want to be on the water, watch the dolphins jumping, the lines of pelicans soaring across the pass, and see the sun rise and set over the peaceful waters of the bay and gulf from a spacious, luxurious condo in a safe and quiet location.
The Lands End pool and spa are included. Their setting is in a garden of palm trees and flowering bushes and trees. It is four buildings away and overlooks the golf course and Gulf of Mexico. Gas grills are available for use there, and also one is between our building and the next.
There is also a secluded large spa or hot tub set behind smaller palm trees for use. Lands End village also has its own tennis courts for your enjoyment.
Most of the restaurants on Captiva deliver to the door and we are happy to recommend our favorite restaurants, boat captains and night spots.
We bought the condo within one hour of walking in the door and seeing the breathtaking view of Redfish Pass, with Upper Captiva Island, the gulf and the bay. There is a bank of windows all along the living room, dining room and sun room so we feel like we are on a ship, and love watching the dolphins jumping, the pelicans and egrets fishing, and the boats sailing out to the smaller islands. It is a slice of Paradise, and we never tire of it.
Our family celebrated the new year at this magnificent ocean front condo. We could not have chosen a more beautiful place. The ocean views with the pelicans, dolphins and the islands with palm trees were a visual delight. The condo is new, everything works, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has only the best equipment, it was spotless and we used the bikes to go everywhere in the resort. The resort has a wonderful new pool and the children enjoyed the water slide. We enjoyed the evening cruise, and the restaurants for dinner. The kids' club was enjoyed by the kids--and we loved having some time together.
We highly recommend this for any age group, couples, families, a girls' getaway, businesspeople--quiet, serene, and very luxurious.
This was our 2nd year staying at this Lands End unit and we are already planning our 3rd visit next year. It doesn't get much better than this. Thanks Diane!
We are an active family of 5 and this condo was perfect for us!
The moment you walk in you are greeted with gorgeous 180 degree water views from the open floor plan and wall of windows and glass doors. It is updated and comfortable. The layout, the decor, the kitchen and especially the deck couldn't have been any better! We ate breakfast at the condo every morning. Great open lay out allowed us to chat and hang out together. We made lunches and brought them to our beach every day. We made appetizers every evening. Everything we needed was there and of high quality.
The deck was great for breakfast coffee and evening hors d’oeuvres. You just couldn’t beat the stunning views as the water is only 30 feet away. We were there for 10 days so the laundry and dishwasher were a must. We also had one really heavy rain day. We crashed in the living room and just hung out on the couches, played games, watched TV and the girls did two puzzles.
The South Seas Plantation was great. We rented bikes and the kids made trips to the marina (to see the manatees), the T dock and Ships Store pretty much every morning. My son and I fished every day! Some of the best fishing in Captiva is right out the back door. Dozens of professional charters run right in front of the condo through Red Fish Pass. We only had to walk a few feet. (My son and I hooking in to THREE 125 tarpons right out front is an entirely different story!) The condo had all the beach chairs, towels and fishing gear we needed. We even learned how to throw the bait net by the end of the week.
We did a little something everyday either through the resort or at the Mucky Duck/YOLO beach. Hanging at the beach, fishing, kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis and we even rented a boat for a day. Dinners at all of the local restaurants were great. And of course, dessert at the Bubble Room was a awesome! Laid back/flip flops/wet bathing suit/easy going and slow paced, Captiva was perfect for us. We left the island only once to golf/shop. The sunsets were better than advertised and made for the perfect complement to evening cocktails and hord’oeuvres. We rolled in and out of the condo all week like it was our home.
All in all it ranks up there with one of our favorite family vacations. The condo’s location and comfort had a lot to do with it. Dealing with the owner was also very easy and accommodative. We had to change our date twice and had no problems. Strongly recommended. We are ready to book for next year!
Well-kept unit with up to date beautiful furnishings.
Excellent views. Spacious and comfortable.
MY husband and I vacationed here for a week. We have stayed at South Seas often and this is by far the best location. The condo was more than what we needed but thoroughly enjoyed vacationing in luxury. The property is beautiful, clean and in the perfect location. The unit is nicely decorated and very well equipped. The kitchen is top notch. We spent a lot of time relaxing out on the balcony and just enjoy the waterviews; lots of boats, fisherman, dolphin. We walked to the beach every day and my husband loved the fishing! One day he caught about 30 fish, he was having a ball. It was very easy communicating and doing business with the owner.
We really enjoyed our stay here, and look forward to coming again in the future. Thanks for a great week!
As I believe others have said in their reviews, the unit itself is very nice and the location can't be beat. However, I'd caution any prospective renters to lower their expectations regarding how any issues which might arise during their stay will be handled. When reading the below comments, please understand that I'm not one to complain about much of anything (hotel rooms, restaurant food, etc.). However, when I'm paying a few grand for something (a condo unit in this case), I simply expect things to work as they should and not be broken or unusable.
We arrived to find a broken ice maker and broken water line on the refrigerator. Not "nuclear" events to be sure, but I generally prefer ice in my drinks when on vacation in Florida in July. Call me crazy. After contacting the property manager I was told, "Yes, that's been broken for a while. The owner won't let us fix it." Wonderful. I contacted the owner and eventually traded emails which appeared to indicate that the owner was inclined to get the unit fixed but the emails soon stopped coming and no fix was ever made. Basically, several trips to the marina store for ice, and one long drive back to the grocery store for an ice cube tray ($5.00 for an ice cube tray!), solved the problem. Would've been nice to either be told about the issue in advance or to have the owner pay to fix it.
We also had both master bathroom sinks clogged from the time we arrived. Given the experience with the icemaker, we didn't even both to ask about getting a plumber in there to fix the sinks. And, to top it off, we found a large golden fish hook embedded in the shag carpet that's in the living area. Luckily, we found and removed the hook just before my 3 year old stepped on it. It's probably not worth mentioning the roaches which we found dead on the living room floor each morning, since we cleaned those up first thing each day while the morning coffee was brewing.
Again, it's a great unit and location. I've been coming to South Seas with my family for about 15 years, and this is the nicest unit I've stayed in. However, once your check clears with the owner, don't expect them to care much about any issues you may have.
Thank you for the great week spent at your condo. It was very comfortable, clean and full of everything. Felt like home – but with better views! The beach was beautiful, We even enjoyed some time by the pool. We did have a few rainy days but we drove into Ft Myers for a day of shopping! What a gorgeous place... We also rented a golf cart which allowed us to explore the whole resort– Great sunset views. We look forward to our return! Thank you again!
