This two-bedroom/1.5-bath, family-owned mountain cabin is situated near beautiful, rural Fines Creek -- in Pisgah National Forest, in western North Carolina. The view from the house is lovely. There are few houses nearby, and lots of trees -- giving the privacy one needs when on vacation.
The evening temperatures are almost always cool; the elevation is 3,500 feet. Fines Creek runs around this property. The Appalachian Trail is nearby. Whitewater rafting can be found close by as well.
This house was given to us by family, and we enjoy having guests
to soak up this beautiful area. My husband Nate went to VPI, and attended Paterson State Teacher's College. We live in a house on the property near the houses we rent out.
Martha Tracy purchased this cabin in 1985
We built our house near the cabin for getaways, and now we are settled full time in our retirement years. We enjoy the lifestyle, and the flora and fauna. We have the
loudest insects you have heard. Birds abound.
Our family chose first, and we are very glad of the choice! A place to relax.
Hi Nate and Martha: Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in your little cabin...just wanted to let you know how much fun we had. Thanks so much.
Hi, We have a comment regarding our stay at fines creek..Tony,Barb, A.J. and Ryan-Michigan, Its actually Illinois-this cabin was truly wonderful! The most peaceful serene spot we have ever been to.If you buy enough food for your stay, you don't really need to leave the cabin at all. It has everything you need to hole up and do nothing but soak up the beautiful scenery.
We enjoyed a cool relaxing week at Fines Creek. It's a great little rustic cabin. Martha and Nate could not have been nicer! My 2 year old daughter was excited to see the cows in the mornings, and the fireflies put on a show every evening. If you're looking for a quite, reasonably priced, country place to relax for a few days I would definitely recommend Fines Creek.
Our cabin was perfect for us and near many hiking trails, the max patch mountain was beautiful, we also did many hikes along the blue ridge parkway and in the pisgah national forest.T he cabins setting is beautiful and private. We enjoyed the mountain view and the cows grazing in the front yard! Our dog was happy to be in such dog friendly surroundings, running around with the owners dogs in the morning. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed,wi fi included.Icould not get cell phone service there, in case that is a problem for anyone, i could pick up service when we got down the road a couple miles. We really enjoyed our week there!
I have been a guest twice in the last few months. Once with a friend and again with my sisters. Both times were wonderful. If you want peace, rest, and a relaxing break from the real world, this is the place. We stayed in the Fines Creek Cabin. It is rustic, but, has everything you need for a memorable stay. Whether you cook indoors or out, everything is there. The beds are unbelievably comfortable and the view from the front porch is great. Bring a book, your jammies, a toothbrush, and enjoy. You will be glad you did. If serenity is what you are looking for, you just found it.
Stayed in early summer of 2007, and was quite pleased. First impression was that it was too close to other dwellings and not "private" but soon changed our minds once settled in - the cabin is situated such that you are not aware of the other dwellings, and it does feel very private. Was very quiet and felt secluded, as if we were alone on the mountain, but with the added security that the owner was close by, should you need or want anything. Has lots of rustic charm, fantastic view, well equipted, comfortable, easy access, and a fantastic porch. This is not a super luxury cabin, more on the rustic side, but has everyting needed for a very comfortable stay, which is exactly what we wanted, a true taste of the mountains. Owner is a fantastic person, available if you need anything, but not at all intrusive, and very interesting to chat with. Love her! We're looking forward to staying there again. Beautiful.
