Hello. I am the owner of this cabin and purchased it for my family several years ago to have a place to get away from the busy city life and just enjoy a little get-a-way that wasn't too far from where we lived, but far enough away to forget about work for a while to create some great memories with the family. Since we don't use it all the time, we thought we could share it with other families that were interested in the creating some fun memories as well.
Sean purchased this cabin in 2005
We looked at a lot of cabins before deciding on this one. We chose this one since it was so secluded from any other cabin. It sits on 5 acres and is surrounded by nice pine and aspen trees. The hot tub in the backyard overlooks the lake and it is really private. While we sit in the hot tub, we watch the kids play yard games in the back yard and it is soooo relaxing.
Seclusion. Hot tub. Moose, wild turkeys, and deer regularly come through the property. Large landscaped yard make the evening especially fun after spending the day at the lake!
The view was incredible, the layout was convenient, lots of towles, 2 sets of washer and dryers, lots of parking, secluded with state trails. Homey!
We had a wonderful time on our family reunion. The go-cart and AVT were great intertainment for the whole family as well as the hot tub. It has a beautiful view of the lake and a nice yard for the kids to play in. We even roasted marshmallow and made s'mores. The cabin is beautiful! Plenty of room even for our large group.
The property was in great condition and very roomy. It was nice to have two family room areas so the kids and the adults could spend time apart. The grassy lawn area was very nice for playing lawn games. The smaller kids enjoyed the swing set and sandbox. Most of all we liked the seclusion of the property.
As other reviewers have noted, it is about a 10-15 minute packed-dirt drive from the main road, but we just planned our trips accordingly.
We found the inventory list to be a bit tedious and somewhat random (detailing some obscure items but not including some that would have seemed more obvious, like pots and pans).
Overall a great place to stay and we would consider it again for our large group. Thank you!
We recently enjoyed a fun, relaxing, and definetly memorable week in this fabulous cabin! Our family including our three sons, a few of their friends, and some extended family had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the cabin and the beautiful area. The cabin is as described in the listing with comfotable accomodations and everything you need to enjoy your stay.
We enjoyed everything about it! The basement was perfect for the boys and their pals to take over and have their own space, the main floor with the two additional bedrooms and full bath was great for adult visitors and still we had the top floor master bedroom for our own space. The family room/kitchen area is spacious and comfortable with an amazing view and large patio. The hot tub and Ranger were great bonuses we enjoyed daily. We saw moose, porcupine, turkeys, deer, chipmunks and squirrels. The views are breath taking, just a gorgeous spot.
During our stay and after we had a few issues come up and the owner was immediately responsive. I have to give him an extra shout out for having his cleaning crew search twice for my son's shirt that is part of his football uniform that he was sure he had left there which we ultimately found somewhere else.
With the boys we spent a lot of time dirt biking and driving the Ranger on the trails around the cabin. We also rented bikes from the KOA campground a few times and enjoyed the bike trail through town. Our kids especially enjoyed the "banana bikes' - something different! We spent a day on the lake at Rendevous Beach, a short maybe 15-20 min. drive from the cabin where you can rent all kinds of watercraft right there on the beach. If you are there in the summer you MUST go see the shows at Pickleville Playhouse!! I "forced" everyone (remember this is a group of BOYS) to go see "Who Killed Juanito Bandito" with me the 2nd night we were there...lots of grumbling on the way there but everyone LOVED it!! The show was hillarious and very well done...in fact this crazy group of boys wanted to see it again so we went again before we left! A group of us girls and moms also saw Beauty and the Beast which was also very well done. The quality of the production and talent was very impressive.
Of course you can't go to Bear Lake without having shakes at Le Beau's....however it was often very crowded so we tried another place just north of Le Beau's called "Merlins" and it was everybit as good, and open on Sunday.
Cabin was wonderful plenty of room, view was awesome. The owner very accommodating and easy to work with and prompt with replies and gave clear instructions of all aspects of renting the cabin. We made some great memories here. Thank you.
My wife and I really enjoyed this cabin. We really like being far away from other people and this cabin gave us the seclusion we wanted. The view was beautiful. The king size bed was comfortable and the cabin was cozy. The only reason I did not give a five star rating was the cleaners must of forgotten to come before we came. It wasn't terrible. we had to wash the sheets, sweep and vacuum the floors but that was it. This cabin has a pretty good record of not having such problems and the owner said we would be compensated for the extra cleaning and apologized several times. I don't believe that will happen to the next renter. I would love to own this cabin. We will definitely be back. P.S. this cabin may be hard to get to if you have a car. The driveway is steep and if there is any rain or mud it could be a bit of an adventure. We got snowed on and were glad we had a 4X4.
Our family has a great time at your cabin. Although there were only 6 of us the cabin was perfect, we spent time together but were able to have private space as well. We saw a moose up close a couple of times, he even laid down in the shade of the house right by the kitchen window, it was amazing. Deer also came up to the cabin to dine on the grass. The cabin's kitchen is fun to cook in! The inventory took about a half hour but maybe we were too careful. You do need to bring your own fun ie: games and movies but we managed. A nice quiet getaway.
Because of its deep blue changing hues, Bear Lake has been coined 'The Caribbean of the Rockies.' Activities in Bear Lake boast some of the best water skiing and boating around. Winter activities are just as good with over 400 miles of groomed snowmobile trails complete with warming huts along the way. Beaver Mountain Ski Resort is just 15 minutes away. Whatever season you decide on, Bear Lake has it all!
