About Catherine or David Costopoulos
My husband David and I (married for 20 yrs) have owned the Sharpsburg Cottage since 2000 when our second daughter Christina was born. David is a general contractor and I manage commercial office buildings, we commit to one capital improvement of the property every year. It is a blessing that David is so talented and can do most of the work himself. We live in Silver Spring Maryland and have two teenage daughters in Private School. One at St. John's Collee HS in DC and one at The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington MD. I am a Commercial Property Manager with over 20 years experience managing rental properties. I love working with our clients and hearing their stories of how much the enjoyed staying at the cottage. We love to spend time in the country and because it is only 1 hr from the house we can get there and back easily in a weekend. What a great place to relax. I hope you will come and visit us sometime. Take care, Catherine

Why Catherine or David Costopoulos chose Sharpsburg
Because it is only 1 hr from the city. It is a great get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. You can really relax here at the cottage. Take a nap on the hammock or unwind in the hot tub.
What makes this cottage unique
We fell in love with this property because of its location. The C&O Canal and Tow Path are located just beyond our front yard. We spend time walking and biking along the path during our visits to the house. There is a small country store two doors down where you can walk and get ice cream (Barrons Country Store). We are five minutes from Antietam and close to many other local attractions. We would spend every weekend in the country if we could. The cottage is fully equipped as if it were are primary residence. Our lives have become very busy so we don't spend as much time as we would like, so we have decided to share our wonderful home with others. ENJOY!!

Helpful votes:0/0. We rent a lot of homes within the DC area and this home has by far been the best we've ever rented. We loved the quiet location and close proximity to the C&O canal towpath, Antietam, Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. The local hike and bike trails are phenomenal for outdoor enthusiasts and walking on the towpath is great in summer because of the dense tree cover providing shade. We didn't even mind the lack of internet and cell access because it felt good to be disconnected for a change. FYI, Verizon never works well within the West Virginia area and probably will be hard to change. The house was immaculate and extremely well-stocked, and that's even allowing for doggie guests which is fantastic for us. Our dog loved the access to the river at Snyder's Landing (so will kids). Our favorite place to eat with dogs was Blue Moon Cafe in Shepherdstown which allow dogs on their beautiful garden patio. We loved it and will be back in the spring to see the river without the leaves. Thank you, Catherine and David.
My Response We are so happy you all enjoyed your stay! Looking forward to having you back again in the Spring!
