Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1.5 Baths, with semi-private futon guest rm. (Sleeps 4-5)

The Sunshine Cottage is appropriately named for it's abundance of windows and skylights! With cathedral ceilings throughout the open-airy tree top feeling is exhilarating! There is a cozy private deck with a large 4 person hot tub and a large covered screened porch on the front of the cottage as well. There is a private king bedroom and a large full bath. The cottage also has a second sleeping area with a futon. The cottage has satellite TV with over 150 channels in the master bedroom and the futon area. Take the five minute walk to the top of the mountain for a great view. Exclusive Lake Summit is a three minute drive away for a day full of fun. Sleeps up to 5. Cottage is Non-Smoking. Nestled on a mountainside less than a mile from Highway 25, our cottage lets you escape the day-to-day and provide you with a memorable mountain experience. Four miles to historic Flat Rock, 10 minutes to Hendersonville, 30 minutes to Asheville.

We had a wonderful time at the Sunshine Cottage. We loved the cottage and it's open airy feel. We arrived at the cottage and it was very inviting and well staged with music playing, ceiling fans on and warm lighting. We drove into town nightly for dinner (about 10 to 15 minutes away). Mezzaluna was our favorite on Main Street. We hiked the waterfalls at DuPont State Forest, Pisgah, and Chimney Rock Park. We highly recommend this cottage and it's location.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Surprise trip for mom

I surprised my mom with a trip to the mountains to celebrate her 70th birthday. At her age and with her current health concerns we may not get many more trips like this. I wanted a place where we could rest and relax. Sunshine Cottage was very peaceful. It was close enough to town and easy to find. We loved the screen porch and had "PJ" day where we spent all day in our pajamas on the porch laughing, talking and playing Scrabble. It was so nice. We enjoyed the hot tub and the upper sun room too. What a great memory. Hope to visit again.

20th Anniversary

We came to the Sunshine Cottage to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Although we live close by, it was a wonderful escape from the everyday stresses life dishes out to each of us. Everything moved more slowly and quietly and was certainly refreshing. The cottage was great - cozy, solid and rustic. Decor is a nice touch. Loved the hot tub. Will certainly recommend these cottages to others. Enjoyed our time here!
