5BR Oceanfront Vacation Rental Port St. Joe, Florida USA

This beautifully furnished and equipped beach house has five bedrooms and three baths. There is a small sitting room with a queen sleep-sofa that can be closed to make a sixth bedroom. Additionally there is a queen-size sleep-sofa in an upstairs lounge area. The home will sleep a maximum of 14 people.

The home has a very open plan, with large rooms and huge windows on the beach side that let the outside in. Special features include beach-level patios, decks, and a covered porch. The full kitchen has all the pots, pans, dishes, and glassware one could wish for.

The master bedroom has a private balcony, and the master bath has a jacuzzi tub.

A boardwalk leads over the dunes directly to the wide, white sand beach.

There are great seafood restaurants in the area. However, if you are looking for nightlife and lots of recreational venues this is not the place for you.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility, lots of seabirds, a great beach, and beautiful sunsets, you will love it here!

The Bayou Belle is located just 8 miles outside of Port St. Joe, Florida. We are on CR 30 A between Cape San Blas and Indian Pass at Historic 'Moneybayou'.

Access Highways to Port St. Joe are 98 and 71. Panama City is about 40 miles away.

St. Vincent Island is a wildlife reserve, and offers tours daily.

Port St. Joe offers shopping and restaurant facilities. The 'Historic Oyster Bar' is about a mile away.

WINTER AT BAYOU BELLE FROM MASSACHUSETTS

WE'VE STAYED AT A DOZEN BEACH FRONT HOUSES FROM CAPE SAN BLAS TO ST GEORGES ISLAND. THIS HOUSE BY FAR IS THE BEST LAID OUT AND EQUIPED WE HAVE STAYED AT. CONTRARY TO THE OTHER REVIEW THERE IS NO MOLD AND YES THE BAYOU DOES REACH THE LEFT FRONT STAIR PILING AT HIGH TIDE. THIS I'M SURE IS A CONCERN FOR THE OWNERS BUT AS A RENTER IT'S OF NO CONSEQUENCE. ON ANY GIVEN MORNING THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF BIRDS INCLUDING PELICANS HERONS AND AMERICAN EAGLES ON THE BEACH AND FEEDING IN THE BAYOU. THE VIEW IS THE BEST ON THE COAST. FROM ST VINCENTS ISLAND TO CAPE SAN BLAS LIGHT, 20 MILES OF UNOBSTRUCTED PANARAMA. THE SUN RISES TO YOUR LEFT AND SETS TO YOUR RIGHT. THE PHOTO OPS ARE OUTSTANDING. IT IS TIME TO UPDATE THE PICS, THEY DON'T DO THE HOUSE JUSTICE IT'S BETTER THAN IT'S PRESENTED. OBVIOUSLY A HOUSE THAT IS USED BY THE OWNERS. FULLY EQUIPED AND A PLEASURE TO STAY AT. TODAY IS FEBUARY 22 2011 AND ITS 76 DEGREES AND SUNNY, THAT IS NOT TYPICAL BUT IT'S BEEN VERY COMFORTABLE THE LAST 3 WEEKS AND LOOKS GOOD FOR THE NEXT 3.

Photos are misleading

We attempted to stay in this house last July but had to leave after one night because they had a mold problem then. The photos of the front of the house are very misleading - most of the front stands in water now - the bayou has come up to the house - the front stilts are standing in lots of water. On a trip there last week we walked along the beach near Money Bayou and the water is even higher now.
Owner's Response: We were very sorry these guest had an unpleasant experience in Bayou Belle.

What haopened was that the mold developed between the day the house was made ready for them and their arrival. During that time we had a very severe thunderstorm and the wind damaged a small section of the roof around one of the sky lights, Water got into the house and the next morning the temp went up to normal panhandle July temperatures. Under those circumstances mold grows very quickly and thats what happened. It was just in one small part of the house, and as soon as it was reported my local manager found them another place to stay. After they were moved, treating the mold and fixing the leak began immediately.

The Bayou is a natural phonomen. It moves at the whim of mother nature. During that period it was closer to the house than it had ever been before. Right now I am told it is going straight out into the gulf. Both I and my local management company make every effort to notify prospective renters of any problem that might occur.

Again I am very sorry they were inconvienced, but we did everything we could to minimize and fix the poblem.
