Savusavu Cottage Rental Photos and Description
You won't find another beachfront location like this anywhere in Savusavu
There are so many beautiful places on earth. So why would you want to visit SigaSiga? For starters, the lovely tropical climate where temperatures rarely leave the 70-85F/18-31C range. Then there’s the Fijian people. Untethered by the materialistic thinking of the “developed” world, the people here are happy and content beyond your imagination! Being happy, helping and getting to know others, taking care of family and friends – this is what dominates the minds and hearts of Fijians. Many Travel Guides claim Fijians are the friendliest people on earth. We agree!
Reason #1 – The early 1900’s brought a migration of Europeans to plant coconut palms – The Tree of Life - to make coconut oil. Fiji’s largest “copra” mill (tours available) is here and over half the coconuts in all of Fiji are grown here. SigaSiga is one of many copra plantations that line the coastlines of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island.
Reason #2 – Being such a large island, we enjoy water falls, adventure tours, locally caught fresh fish daily, free range non-GH beef, fruits and vegetables, bus, taxi and ferry services.
Reason #3 – Savusavu town sets on Savusavu Bay, one of the largest in the South Seas, providing safe harbour to boats from around the world and great fisheries. Visit the Savusavu Yacht Club to ‘talk story’ with the Yachties, enjoy a drink in the bar on the pier and hear some fantastic stories from these brave, adventurous travellers.
Reason #4 –This is a quaint, friendly community where Fijians gather for their goods, services and entertainment from the many surrounding villages. Savusavu also has many expats who have settled here or have holiday homes. We are a diverse, friendly, and active bunch putting on socials and helping locals. Savusavu is known as the “Hidden Paradise”. “Ooooh”, Fijians from around the country say, “Savusavu is the TRUE Paradise!”
Location – plain and simple! Pronounced “Sing – a, Sing – a”, the original native name for the property means Sunshine. Just 10 minutes from the SVU airport and another 5 minutes from town along the little travelled, tar-sealed Hibiscus Hwy, we are conveniently located yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. The most common Guest comments are about how quiet, relaxing and peaceful it is here.
In front, we’ve got the world class snorkelling park. Snorkelers say SigaSiga Lagoon is better than many scuba dives! The calm, natural swimming lagoon is a 5-10 minute walk down the beach. Bring your beach towels, pool floats and Esky ice chest (all provided) and enjoy the clear, warm pacific ocean at any tide. Out back, the creeks and trails through 99 acres of pristine wilderness present a spectacular, lush world to explore. Exotic birds and flowers thrive here under the high canopy of our SigaSiga Forest Reserve.
Your cottage is surrounded by trimmed lawns, a vast variety of flowers and palms, lily ponds, and park pathways. With ALL of this set on what many people call Savusavu’s BEST BEACH, what are you waiting for?
Weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries are common reasons to celebrate life here. Many simply come here to grow deeper in love. Our resident staff is here to help you have your greatest vacation ever! We thrive on the opportunity to share this little slice of what we call The Ultimate Paradise.

After visiting Fiji twice before on holiday, my wife found a short classified newspaper ad in our small local Kona, Hawaii newspaper. it read 'Will trade Fiji Beachfront land for Hawaii property'. I got very excited! I had never looked for property to buy in Fiji before. But this just sounded too good to pass up. After about 6 months, I convinced a friend and my mother to consider a partnership and went to Savusavu to explore the opportunity.
It was everything we had hoped for and more! While staying at nearby Kontiki Resort (now Koro Sun Resort), we heard there was no water at SigaSiga. But in fact, we confirmed there are two natural spring aquifers and year-round running creeks. The sandy beach was there with the snorkeling and swimming lagoons closeby. The caretaker took us on a hike more or less around the boundary and showed us a couple old wooden survey pegs and part of a fenceline. He fed us coconut and papaya off the trees there during our walk along the creek. We were in heaven!
We went to to the Dept. of Lands in Suva, the capital city, and viewed the original freehold Certificate of Title. It was first written on extra large parchment paper with fountain pen in 1892. Looking at the backside, there are small ink forms stamped in the order of any change that affected the Title. The last entry did indeed show the Owner to be the current seller of the property. That's all we needed to know!
Most people in Fiji speak 3 languages-English (the official language), Fijian, and Fiji Hindi. Maybe that’s why this is such a pleasant, friendly place to visit and live. Not only are the people untethered by the extremes of the materialistic developed world, but we can all communicate, help one another and have fun doing it. That’s what Fiji life is all about.
Come visit and feel for yourself. We love sharing this pristine, peaceful property where the people's friendly nature and this unspoiled environment make every day a blessing to behold.
It was our DESTINY!
Far enough away from town to appreciate the quiet, relaxing setting while only 15 minutes from town. Excellent, friendly staff, very well maintained cottages and expansive park-like grounds. Location hard to beat!
