Guestbook comments from the owner
Hi Kevin,

We have just returned to Lansing after a fabulous time on Captiva Island.

Your home was the perfect fit for our family. It was in the BEST location,

offered everything we needed and more and provided ample space for our

extended family. The furnishings and condition of your home offered us a

luxurious stay. The grandkids especially loved the pool and seemed to be in

it most of the day. The game room was well used and the ping pong contest

champions enjoyed their victory and now hold bragging rights until the next

family gathering. We could not have had a better time! Your home was ideal.

Thanks again, Mary

My wife and I, along with our four kids, live outside of Pittsburgh. It's a great place to live if you like professional sports, hunting, fishing, music and theatre.

The Owner purchased this house in 2003

After vacationing in Captiva many times we realized there weren't many places that had as much to offer. It's as much activity as you want, or as little. You can be gone all day shopping, shelling, fishing or visiting other islands on the local cruise boat. Or you can just sit on the beach, relax and watch the beautiful sunsets as you sip margaritas from the Mucky Duck.

The house is right in the middle of all the action on the best street in the village. You can walk to everything within minutes. We have arrived at the house, parked the car and not used it again for days! It's so nice when even a large family can all go to lunch without having to jam in the car. Once back inside the house the quiet serene and peaceful nature of it's design will make you feel like you're the only ones on the island!

Amazing Captiva

  • 5 of 5
We had an amazing vacation on Captiva. The house was exactly as described, very spacious and clean. We didn't actually have any contact at all with the property managers as we didn't really need anything and managed to work things out ourselves, but I assume they were around somewhere if we'd had a problem. We hardly used the pool as the beach is so beautiful and a short stroll away. The deck chairs/umbrellas and beach cart were extremely useful. We had a great time playing table tennis. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and the deli is great. Sunset at the Mucky Duck is a great event and we took some amazing sunset photos. The Sanibel Thriller is definitely worth doing, we had so many dolphin leaping around it was incredible. We rented bikes for the whole two weeks and really enjoyed being able to cycle around. We even cycled down to Ding Darling and back and one keen person cycled to the Sanibel Causeway and back, its a great place for cycling (despite the dire warnings from the tourist office about cycling on Captiva being dangerous.......for people who cycle to work daily in London, trust me, its safe on Captiva!). Don't miss seeing the manatees at the harbour. My only recommendations would be for some grown up games in the cupboard, there was mostly stuff for children and we were a party of 12 adults, we could have done with Scrabble or something, and also a few more instructions with regard to music system and swimming pool, there wasn't any additional info/instructions in the house. We will definitely come back to Captiva one day and you can't get a better location than Bella Bellini.

Bella Bellini

We had a large group (12) and there was plenty of room for everyone. The only "down" side was the pool is a little small for large groups. But it was clean and we enjoyed it. The listing pictures are accurate. We are planning to stay there again in 2015.

Our family has stayed at Bella Bellini at least five times. Kevin and his property manager, Sheri, have always gone out of their way to make certain our stay is wonderful. If there is a request, prior to, or after arrival, they do their best to accommodate us. Given their concern for their guests, we do our best to care for the property as if it were our own. That way we know we'll be welcomed back. They've even managed to provide excellent weather on all our visits. You just can't beat sunset on Captiva Island!

You won't go wrong renting Bella Bellini.

Perfect Place for Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
My family and I rented Bella Bellini to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary. It was the perfect setting for the family to get together, and we all enjoyed every minute of it! The house was the ideal setting-feels comfortable & cozy while at the same time is so big it provides everyone their own privacy. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend quality time together. Sherri was incredibly helpful for the very minor questions we asked of her. Overall, absolutely nothing but wonderful things to say about this house-hope to go back again in the future.

Perfect location, perfect home for large families

  • 5 of 5
What a beautiful home in a wonderful location! My husband and I were looking to return to beautiful Captiva Island, where we visited for our honeymoon 5 years ago. Our trip turned into a multi-family vacation including my extended family which means we needed a lot of space.

We so enjoyed our week at Bella Bellini, we wished the week didn't have to end. Not only is the home beautiful, but the location is perfect. Although it's right in the heart of Captiva, within easy strolling distance to the beach, store and several restaurants, it still feels very private.

Our group consisted of my parents, siblings and all of our children. There were 19 of us in total with 9 children aged 9 and under. The house was able to easily accommodate all of us and we never felt crowded.

The home is exactly as described, actually it was even better than described. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. They really thought of everything in equipping Bella Bellini, not once did we think "I wish they had...". The owner and caretakers were very attentive and informative, providing great recommendations on what to do and where to go on the island and they very quickly addressed the few (extremely minor) issues we had during our stay. We very much appreciated the beach cart, chairs and umbrellas provided with the house which made the short walk to the beach a breeze.

Some tips for your stay: On Tuesdays and Thursdays (double check which days) you can buy fresh fish from the fish truck just a few doors down at the general store which you can then prepare on the grill or in the awesome kitchen at Bella Bellini. Also, the library will allow you to check out DVDs and other materials for free, great for entertaining kids during an afternoon rain shower. Also, don't miss seeing the manatees at the marina! We walked down there a couple of mornings which kids and adults alike enjoyed. And, of course, the shells on Captiva beaches are wonderful! We found the best hunting time to be just before and after low tide.

We definitely will stay here again and I wholeheartedly recommend Bella Bellini for your stay. You won't regret your choice.

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5
My family and I loved staying at this house. It is in an amazing location, it is close to the beach and within walking distance of 4 or 5 great resaurants. The house is well furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking whatever you want. The kids loved having the pool. Overall an ideal house for a vacation on Captiva!
