WE DO NOT ADVERTISE ON CRAIGSLIST. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
Grew up in the Bay Area and always loved the Monterey Peninsula
Margaret purchased this house in 2004
Love the history of this house (built in 1908) and the location just could not have been better. We love spending time in PG and just parking the car for the weekend. So much to do and so relaxing at the same time.
Close to everything. Long history
Wow, absolutely loved this home. It was the perfect place for us and it had all the amenities and comforts of home you could ask for - proximity to the ocean and downtown, surround sound in every room, fireplaces, beautiful kitchen, hot tub... we can hardly wait to go back! Thank you very much for allowing us to share your lovely home.
My wife and I stayed at this property with another couple friend of ours. The property is perfectly situated in the center of town with easy access to the beach. Parking was easy to find right in front of the house. The home was clean, updated, with plenty of fresh linens and towels. The hot tub was a great addition. Will definitely stay here again. Definitely recommended!
My husband and I stayed here July 6-11 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house was cute and clean. Margaret had it fully stocked so there were plenty of pillows, towels and cooking supplies. We used the hot tub every night, such a nice way to relax after hiking or sight-seeing. Our favorite thing about the house was the location. We felt safe, the neighborhood was quiet and we could walk to many sights and restaurants (Toasties, Hollys, Peppers and the Red House). Our only negative was that the mattress was too firm but that's our personal taste. Highly recommend this house!
We loved the house. It is so close to the bay and the hike/bike trail that runs between Pacific Grove and Monterrey. It's also and within a very short walking distance to restaurants, shops, bars, etc. in Pacific Grove.
Margaret's place was modern, bright & extremely clean. The house is ideally located between downtown Pacific Grove & Lovers Point Park & Beach. At Lovers Point, you can walk or bike the Monterey Bay Coastal trail to the aquarium. It's a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute bike, along the beautiful central Californian coast.
Margaret's house is filled with light, due to the loft and the skylights in the kitchen and lots of windows. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked with all the necessary equipment, including sharp knives (which is rare to find in rentals) and there is a wonderful welcome gift on the counter.
Frank greeted us & gave us a quick introduction to the house and the area, which was very helpful! Margaret quickly respond to the email we sent, asking where to find the outside trashcan. Excellent customer service!
We went to the Pacific Grove Farmer's Market, which runs Mondays, from 4-7pm. It's a 2 block walk from the house. We ate multiple times at The Red House Cafe, which was made simple, delicious, home-cooked meals! Everyone was super friendly & service was superb. They even entertained our temperamental 2 year old. Highly recommended.
We also enjoyed The Works coffee shop, along with the bookstore in the back. Again, everything was within walking distance. Slightly further away is Pavel’s Backerei, which bakes gargantuan donuts & pastries. There's always a line out the door, for good reason. If you have children, the house is only a block from Caledonia Park, with play structures, slides and swings for the kids.
We drove 15-20 minutes south to Los Lobos State Reserve and it was spectacular, with easy trails. Quite a few of the trails are wheelchair & stroller friendly and the views are some of the best on the entire California coastline.
We really enjoyed our trip and highly, highly recommend Margaret's place. It was such a great rental experience, making it an excellent home base for our trip.
The house was perfect for our family! Location was great, close walking distance to many great amenities including the beach! The fireplaces throughout the house were great! Especially loved the fireplace out back. Made for a nice getaway. When we are all tired from exploring the area, coming back to the house was so beautiful and relaxing. We made s'mores and drank wine in the back. The kids enjoyed the loft area upstairs and the deck gave a really nice view. House came with everything we needed! Even came with some chips, salsa and a bottle of wine! Not sure if that was left from the previous vacationers or from Margaret. We absolutely loved the house and can't wait to come back again. I will definitely request to stay here again on my next trip to Monterey. Cant say it enough! Love love loved the house! Thank you Margaret! And to Frank also! Very friendly and even gave us some good recommendations of places to eat!
