Above All Else @ Windsong is situated in a quiet corner of Windsong Arabians Mayland horse farm. (Google Windsong Arabians) Bring your own horse(s) or watch ours graze alongside the deer as you sit on the porch and enjoy the view! (A corral suitable for four compatible horses is included in this vacation rental.)

This vacation home is perfect for small family reunions or gatherings, as well as for ACCOMMODATIONS for your wedding party, graduations, retreats, and celebrations of any sort. (We do not accommodate weddings, receptions, parties, ETC. Maximum # of guests on the property is 10.)

Above All Else is centrally located to Washington D.C., Baltimore, Harper's Ferry, Ellicott City, Hagerstown, and Gettysburg.

The house has four bedrooms, three full baths, a fully-equipped kitchen/dining area, a living room, TV room, and laundry room -- as well as a front porch and a rear deck. We supply the linens and towels.

There are 5 golf courses closeby. Also, nearby, there are 2 state parks with lakes. In Harper's Ferry there's a river for tubingor white water rafting! Go to a wine fest (our neighbors, Linganore Wine Cellars) or shopping. Or just stay 'home' and sit on the porch or the deck!

Above All Else, you'll love the peace and quiet!

Linens and things: Thanks, but we prefer and request that you allow us to wash our own linens. If there is a need for more towels or linens than are available in the house, just call us and we will provide you with additional linens and towels. Hike the C&O Canal, eat at any one of the fine restaurants in the area, take the children to one of the zoos in Thurmont, Baltimore or Washington DC or take them to Adventure World USA 15 min. away or a 6 Flags theme park. Go antique or outlet shopping nearby, take a tubing or water rafting outing, ice skate indoors (Frederick), or take a horseback riding lesson on the farm. There's something for everyone!

WONDERFUL VACATION HOME!

I booked this home for a spring break family get-away. There were 8 of us. The house was spacious & very clean with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware/cookware/utensils as well as several pantry staples. Jim greeted us upon our arrival and was very warm & welcoming; we enjoyed talking to him! We felt right at home. My daughter & niece (ages 12 & 14) enjoyed working with the horses and their riding lesson with Sue. Both girls learned a lot from Jim & Sue and of course want their own horse! There is plenty to do in the area and we traveled around so much that we didn't get to fully enjoy this lovely home and surroundings. We are planning a return trip to relax! I highly recommend "Above All Else"!

A wonderful experience! It was above all else!

We are a family owned business and have been traveling for work now for over 3 years. We were sick and tired of noisy and crowded hotels. We didn't know what we were going to do. Then I found home away. This lovely home was only our second time at a home away house and we are never going back to hotels!
Sue and Jim work so hard on their farm and the house and it shows. So clean and neat, so comfortable and quiet. I didn't want to leave. Everything was there that you could possibly need and want. I also discovered how beautiful Maryland is. I was able to venture around and discovered farmers markets(England Acres opened all year! awesome!), lovely antique shops, wonderful restaurants. You have it all here! So impressed! I just hope we get more work in the area so we can come back and settle in to this wonderful home away from home! Thank you!!!!

Peaceful and relaxing

This was a terrific vacation rental. There were 6 of us and there was plenty of space for all of us. It was so nice to see the sites of Washington, D.C. but the best part was getting back to the house. My daughter and some of her children actually chose not to go site-seeing and stayed on the farm. My 2 youngest grandsons, ages 9 and 11, loved helping with the horses. The nine year old (Zack) is continuing the riding lessons he started with Sue. Jim and Sue were the best host and made us feel so welcome. The house is immaculate and has all the amenities you could want. We enjoyed watching all the deer come out of the woods each morning and evening. We definitely would consider coming back here.

This was the perfect place to visit DC and Baltimore. The quiet here is so refreshing after the craziness of the city. House had everything we could possibly need and more. Saw deer every night and pretty sure we heard wild turkeys down by stream.
Absolutely lovely place.
HIghly recommend.
