Our family has been vacationing at Mauna Lani for more than 15 years. We have been very fortunate to recently purchase this spectacular oceanfront home. This villa was lovingly and professionally renovated by its former owner, an interior decorator from San Francisco. It is located in a community of residents that take great pride in their homes and resort. You can't help but unwind in this peaceful location.
We had a wonderful stay at Michael and Mary-Ann’s villa. When inquiring about the villa, Michael was extremely helpful and responded immediately to all our questions, as well he provided us with very helpful information about the area. Upon arrival we were greeted by Cathy who immediately made us feel welcome.
The location is ideal and the Villa is beautiful and comfortable with an amazing lanai and a breathtaking view. The grounds and pool area are immaculate and very well maintained. The beach area is picture perfect!
We originally planned to dine out some of the time, however we found the villa was so well equipped and the BBQ area so clean, it was a pleasure to prepare our meals.
We would not hesitate to recommend this villa and we hope to return.
Enjoyed this condo. The owners thought of everything. The furnishings were lovely and very comfortable. We enjoyed the huge table on the lanai. It was great for meals and games. If you haven't been before, the fish ponds are wonderful and there is a great beach. I highly recommend this unit and look forward to coming back.
The condo is upstairs so be prepared to carry luggage upstairs. It wasn't a problem for us but might be for some.
Our trip was fantastic, and the condo as our home base was one of the main reasons. It is really beautiful and comfortable and most important to us, it felt furnished (furniture, kitchenware, utensils, etc.) like I would furnish my own home. The location is perfect, even better than staying in the hotel. Midpoint between the Mauna Lani and the Beach Club is ideal. We walked over to each on multiple occasions and it's a super easy walk. I won't bother including a picture from the lanai; you know what it looks like. Spectacular.
We were threatened with a hurricane during our stay. But we went to Costco upon arrival at the airport and stocked up with steaks, pizza, frozen shrimp and wine. The only impact of the hurricane was that all the employees went home at 2PM. The weather the rest of the day was very pleasant (even the wind was kind of enjoyable and pleasant) and the beaches were accessible. That evening we grilled the steaks by the pool, ate on the lanai and thoroughly enjoyed the evening, watching the hurricane not happen. I felt bad for hotel guest whose only option was a massive buffet at the hotel.
Finally, Cathy, the local contact, is a great representative for the owner. She was incredibly accommodating in making the stay more comfortable, including an air mattress for one of my 20 something sons and boogie boards to play with.
I don’t know when we'll return to Hawaii, but I would absolutely look forward to staying at this place again. Highly recommended.
We just returned from a 10 day stay at Michael and Mary Ann's beautiful unit at Mauna Lani Terrace. Here are some words that describe the unit and the location - breathtaking, stunning, fabulous, amazing, perfect! When Cathy, the manager met us at the unit and opened the door, I was speechless. Pictures do not do this unit justice. When you look in you look straight through the unit through floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that open up to the lanai to amazing ocean views. Wow! The floors are all done in beautiful dark hardwood, beds are incredibly comfortable. There is a daybed on the lanai outside the master which my 12 year old slept on every night. There is AC but when we were there we left the doors open and ceiling fans on and temperature was perfect. The location is perfect - a short walk to the mauna lani hotel where we usually went in the evenings to enjoy sunset from the pools/beach and have a mai tai (best mai tais of our trip and only $8 at happy hour) and the other direction a short walk to the private beach club where we went for a morning snorkel. The snorkeling there is as good as anywhere on the island - including the captain cook monument IMO. Cathy the property manager was great - when I asked if the property had bogey boards, she said no but brought us a few to use during our stay. We loved having this be our home away from home on vacation. We checked out several other of the finer hotels on the island, including the Fairmont, Mauna Kea and Hapuna and Four Seasons - aside from the four seasons, Mauna Lani was our hands down favorite. Having use of all the hotel facilities while staying in a 10 star residence at the price of a single hotel room can not be beat. Owners provide an access card for the beach club and hotel facilities but we were never once asked for it. A hands down winner. Thank you Michael and Mary Ann for sharing your amazing villa with me and my family!! We look forward to coming back!!
Our stay at, Mary-Ann and Michael's suite, at the MaunaLani Terrace was nothing short of outstanding. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by an amazing view including swimming pools, fish ponds, sandy beaches and endless Ocean framed with towering palms. It was clear to us that this was the place to relax and unwind. A few mornings we experienced whales breaching as we sat out on the lanai having our breakfast- magical. The villa was beautiful. Exquisite furnishings and Hawaiian decor really set this unit apart in terms of its elegance. Everything you could possibly need or want can be found within the unit, or only steps away on the grounds surrounding this world class property. It is a condo where nothing has been over looked. Cathy (the housekeeper/local manager) was delightful and the space was clean- immaculate really! The water was crystal clear and schools of fish and green sea turtles were abundant. We had a fantastic time snorkeling and relaxing at the beach. Its location is just a few hundred yards from two phenomenal golf courses. The entire experience was memorable and breath taking. A penthouse villa that surpassed our high expectations. We would recommend it and will definitely book again in the future.
My wife and I recently stayed for 2 weeks. We have stayed in the area at least a dozen times and this was the nicest unit we have been to yet. Cathy met us on arrival and our entire stay was seamless. The view is outstanding, and the location is perfect for us (close to the beach and the clubhouse). We will definitely be back.
Private beach is 100 yards from your front door leading to Makaiwa Bay which is home to pristine coral reefs and some of the best snorkelling and scuba diving in Hawaii. Guests have access to the Private Beach Club including its cabanas and restaurant. Mauna Lani Sea Adventures offers sunset sails and whale watching cruises on its catamaran.
The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel with its outstanding Canoe Club restaurant is 5 minutes walk just next door. The community sports club and the Mauna Lani Spa are also a 5 minute walk away. There is 36 holes of championship golf available at the Francis H Brown golf complex , a short 10 minutes walk from the villa.
The Shops at Mauna Lani are a 15 minute walk up the hill and it includes many restaurants, shops, and a full service grocery store.
