Lazy Week

My friends and I recently stayed at the wonderful "Seaside Escape." The view was magnificent. Upon walking through the front door, I felt relaxed and at home. Much to our surprise, we found everything needed for a day at the beach on the back porch. What a picture we made, three teenage girls, building sandcastles like toddlers! Although we had planned activites everyday of our week long trip, we spent most of our time sitting on the beach or in the rocking chairs on the back porch, watching the waves breaking. The home was spotless and, surprisingly, the description was perfect. Everything that was stated on the webpage was found in the home. The paintings found on the wall and the furniture chosen to decorate the home, gave the place a beachy atmosphere. Saving our luggage, we did come across board games in one of the upstairs closets. Ecstatic, we pulled one down and played after dinner that night as the storm rolled in. On the weekends the beach was not as crowded as either of us would have anticipated and during the week it was empty. We ordered pizza from Michelanglo's on our first night. It was edible, but disappointing to anyone who was raised on Pizza Hut. We did drive up to Wrightsville Beach to do some shopping and ate at the South Beach Grill. It was fantastic, as was King Neptune's. I recommend trying the Jamaican Chicken at King Neptune's, unless you are not one for spicy eatings. In Carolina Beach, which is only about ten minutes from the townhouse, there is a grocery store to supply you with all of your food needs, as well as a movie rental business. Wings, a surf shop, can also be found in Carolina Beach. This is where we did most of our souvenir shopping for ourselves, family, and friends. Everyone that we ran into were extremely nice, as was the owners of the townhouse. Throughout the week, they called to check up on us and make sure that everything was absolutely perfect. The only downside I found was the absence of a DVD player. A VCR is supplied, but in an age when VCR tapes have become arcaic, having one is almost pointless. Especially when the movie rental businesses are beginning to only carry DVDs. Other than that, our stay was magnificent. Each and everyone of us would recommend this vacation spot to all of our friends and families. I would certainly recommend it to all of you reading this at the moment. Lastly, I would like to thank the owners for providing us with a memorable trip. We will talk about it for years to come.
