Andrea purchased this house in 1986
Long driveway enhances the solitude and privacy of our resort. Large sloping lawn that extends all the way to the sandy beach. Nice swimming area, with drop off out past end of docks.
This is the 4th year that we have vacationed at Birchwood Cove. This is the first time we have rented the house. This was a family vacation 17 all together. We each had our own space and the sleeping arrangements were adequate. The beach was superb. Great place for young children, ours were 11 months to 8 years and all had a great time in the water. The porch was great. I would recommend it to anyone that has more than 4 people. It was easily accessible even though it was a tri-level. Not too many stairs. Would love to rent this house again next year.
The description and pictures of this rental are very deceiving....... Because it is twenty times better than the pictures and descriptions. We went with three couples, a single person, three dogs and two kids. This house had plenty of room and very very child friendly (I had to move a couple coffee tables and put a couple rubber corner pieces but that's all. My 15 month old had plenty of space to run and play. All couples had enough room for theirselves. Very clean and well maintained, if I could afford this property I would buy it cause it is for sale. The only downside was the bed was not comfortable...... But I can love with that or a week. Seriously the best vacation I have had in a while.
Loved this house! The pictures doesn't do it justice, it seemed bigger than shown. Came here with my family of 10, including three little boys, under 3 yrs. old. The sandy beach in the backyard was shallow for a good distance and was perfect for them!! We had use of the rowboats, their was a pier on each side of our beach area and a wooden platform in the clean lake. Enjoyed eating our meals in the screened-in porch and our bonfires every night right in front of the beach.Be sure to check out the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the shops in Traverse City. Had a great dinner at Boone's Long Lake Inn (steaks, prime rib and seafood). Would definitely recommend this great rental house!
This place is awesome - the newly updated and renovated stated of the interior was a pleasant surprise! The screened in porch was an excellent place to relax and watch the thunderstorms roll in at night, and the dock and lawn provided much entertainment. Lovely flowers and a friendly owner made it even better. You could be satisfied without ever leaving the lake (though when you do, a great coffee place (Buds) and grocery store (Toms) are only a few miles away). The only drawback was the inability to rent linen (as it is not provided) - that would have made things much easier.
