50th Wedding Anniversary

  • 5 of 5
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in July with our family of 18 at the Moak Lodge. We had a wonderful time and there was plenty of room for all of us. The facilities at the lodge were great and so was the view of the mountains. The dishwasher and the outdoor grill were used a lot. The trampoline was enjoyed by many along with the swings and the children loved seeing the horses. We had deer and elk in our yard many times during out visit. Our grandchildren ranged in ages from 15 to 3 and they all want to return. Linda was easy to work with and we would highly recommend the lodge.

Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 22 (3 generations, grandparents to a one-year-old) from Illinois and California all met in Colorado to spend a week together. Moak Lodge certainly accommodated us well, with good sleeping arrangements and comfortable beds, space for all the family to gather, very adequate cooking/grilling facilities, and many other amenities. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful deck, with great views of snow-capped mountains, and the children enjoyed the play equipment and the horses. We appreciated the private, peaceful surroundings, yet the proximity to Estes Park and to Rocky Mountain National Park. Our week including much fantastic hiking, so it was an advantage to reach the National Park without having to drive through town. It was nice to work with Linda; she was pleasant, friendly and helpful, and always responded promptly to our questions and concerns. We can heartily recommend beautiful Moak Lodge for a pleasant stay in the mountains. Our 2-year-old granddaughter wonders when we are going back to “our Colorado house”!

Awesome stay

  • 5 of 5
Our stay was incredible. The pictures do not do the house justice at all. The setting was beautiful and wildlife was abundant. We had a large family get together and there was plenty of room. Beds were comfortable and the house had all we needed. Linda was great before, during, and after our stay. When asking Linda about any things we could do, if she didn't have an answer, she knew right where to tell us to go for information. I would highly recommend anyone with a large group to consider this place. It was great!!!

family get together

  • 5 of 5
We rented Moak Lodge for a family get together. The house far exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well stocked, and the deck was a perfect place for an early morning cup of coffee or late night star gazing. It had more than enough room for our group and the basement was perfect for the younger set to have their own space. The owner, Linda was available for any questions we might have had. I highly recommend Moak Lodge and have already recommended it to friends.

A decent night's stay

A decent night's stay
  • 4 of 5
Overall, the house is big, clean, well stocked, and able to accommodate large parties. My family and I enjoyed the large deck with its stunning view. The area is also quiet and private but still convenient in relation to the National Park and downtown. On the downside, there are a couple of criticisms that future renters should consider. In poor form, the owners turned off the washing machine without prior notification in email or on the website (which was specifically checked beforehand). We ended up hand washing our clothes in the sink because we had packed conservatively while planning to do laundry at the house, which is a reasonable expectation for having traveled across the country to stay in a place for 7 days. It’s also a shame that the DVD player in the house is stuck in the basement, not in the main family room where people want to hang out. In this day and age, this seems like a no-brainer. Reasonable access to commonplace technology and strong wi-fi should be the standard.

Owner's Response: It was wonderful having your family visit. The lack of washing machine access has been due to the fact that we are on a well and septic system. Perhaps you had our home confused with another you were scouting, Armand, as we have not had the machine on line for three seasons. I know you had some babies in tow, so I do apologize for the misunderstanding. There is no way we can offer laundry services, given the large amounts of guests in and out each week. The septic system simply could not "take it". That is the primary reason we stock the house with an overabundance of towels. I wish you had contacted me regarding the DVD situation, as there was a spare in one of the closets. 2 out of 3 televisions in the home were set up with them. Thanks again for the stunning photos. I loved the one of the sunset the best. I am not sure if city water and sewer will ever make it to 8500 feet elevation, but I, too, wish it were possible to offer the washing machine. All the best!

Moak Lodge

  • 5 of 5
Moak Lodge is in a perfect location, viewing the Mummy Range of Colorado, just a peak around the corner to Long's Peak and Meaker Peak. Absolutely beautiful surroundings, excellent personal service and all the comforts of home. This house is a comfy house where you don't feel crowded even with 15 people in the house. Lovely deck surrounds the house. Since we were there for a golfing weekend, with several of our golfing friends, we were happy that the golf course was only 10 minutes away. Very convenient to downtown Estes Park as well. I would encourage anyone to come to the Rockies and experience this wonderful home.
