The cabin is conviently located approx. 8 miles between Burnsville and Spruce Pine. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Mitchell, Asheville, Boone, Banner Elk and Wolf Laurel are just some of the many communities located within 1 hour or less of our cabin. Fishing, hunting, golf, tubing, hiking, gem stone mining & shopping are among the many outdoor activities available nearby. The area is also rich in arts & crafts with numerous galleries, studios & The Penland School of Arts within 15 minutes of the property. The decor is 'mountain style' with many unique rustic touches.Our cabin has a large wraparound deck to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.

Private and Luxurious Retreat

My husband and I stayed at the cabin along with his sister, and her husband in June, 2009. We enjoyed the stay so much that we have already booked a return visit, just the two of us this trip. The other reviews on this site are completely accurate. Cathy and Craig will do their best to make sure you have an enjoyable visit. The cleanliness was extremely appreciated, and makes one never want to stay in a motel/hotel ever again. I have recommended this property to my family, and would do so to anyone else wanting to stay in this area. The easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is another plus, for anyone planning to visit the scenic mountains of North Carolina.

Mountainside Comfort!

As Central Floridians for the last 20+ years this mountain retreat was our first experience vacationing in the Western Carolinas! We enjoyed hiking Clingman's Dome, visiting Gatlinburg, Grandfather Mountain and Swinging Bridge, Emerald Forest, and just relaxing on the spacious wrap around deck taking in the serene pasture and mountain views of this place! We also loved the charm of nearby Burnsville and Asheville North Carolina, home of the famed Biltmore Estate.
This place is all about the quiet, definitely has rustic cabin decor but all the charm and amenities of a first rate resort experience! It is really going to be tough going back to the hustle and noise of Orlando. We have also really enjoyed this time of getting to know good friends even better. The home offers all of the conveniences one could desire, two jetted tubs, full size washer and dryer, kitchen complete with dishwasher, beautiful and comfortable furnishings single car attached garage, gas log fireplace and mountain slate outdoor fire pit! We roasted hot dogs and s'mores with our friends who invited us as their guests with firewood that was provided for us! I will recommend this as a great vacation experience for anyone desiring to be away from it all yet close to it all in the mountain region of western North Carolina!

Private Cozy Cabin

Our experience at the cabin was like no other. We are a family of four with two young children who stayed the last week of December 2008. When we arrived at the cabin Kathy and Craig had made it so welcoming, the details blew me away. Even though we went Hawks Nest, Ski Beech mountain and the Biltmore Estates which were all nearby, we enjoyed staying in the cabin the best. The scenery was awesome and the fire pit was our favorite hang-out. Hopefully your stay will be as fulfilling as ours was!

A warm thanks to Kathy and Craig! They were so accomodating and thought of everything we could possibly need as if we were at home. The cabin and property was more than anyone could ask for. It is spacious, cozy, and decorated beautifully. We'd recommend this property for families, groups, or a romantic getaway for two. Although privately secluded in the mountains, it's just over an hour to Asheville/Biltmore Estate. There are so many things to do nearby including fishing, hiking, and sightseeing. We hope to be back soon!

Great location beautiful scenery

We stayed at the cabin for 2 nights in December and it is beautiful. It is exactly as described and perfect for 3 couples. Kathy and Craig were very graious hosts. We were there for a wrestling tournament and didn't get to enjoy the cabin as much as we would have liked but we are planning on making a return trip in the summer.
