Better than expected

MichaelXV Reston, VA
Review Submitted: July 16, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I was really surprised at how maintained they keep this place. Everything about my stay was perfect. The marina is not that far away and I just followed the ridge line to find the house from my wave runner. If you don't have a good sense of direction, this may be a challenge for you. There is a store right down the street and another one about six miles away (very $$$), so I wasn't worried about the little things (jelly, eggs, bread, aloe, etc.) The dump isn't that far so disposal was a piece of cake (remember to double wrap...smell lasts a while). I highly recommend spending a week or two at this rental.

Plush Rustic!

gardengirl1204 Richmond, Va
Review Submitted: April 17, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This is an absolutely beautiful house! We walked in and were automatically smitten with the huge open area with the awesome view of the lake! The great room is big enough to have been divided into comfortable areas to sit and do whatever you want: sit and enjoy the beautiful view; play a game or solve a jigsaw puzzle at the "game" table; vegged in front of the flat screen TV; cozy up with loved ones on a cold night in front of the rustic stone fireplace or just sit and listen to the XM Radio!

The kitchen was beautiful with granite countertops and everything you need to make a wonderful meal!

3 standard bedrooms with the master having a luxury walk-in, 3 head tiled shower! WOW!

All in all, we had a wonderful time here and would definitely recommend this home to everyone!

Our Home away from Home

Reedie Brandywine, Maryland
Review Submitted: January 11, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Our family has been enjoying the Lodge for 10 years. It is a beautiful place to relax, laugh, eat, swim, sun, boat and read. Our family enjoys the well equiped kitchen for our annual "Cook Offs" we all love to cook and it's a pleasure in the updated lodge kitchen. The Lodge and Cedar Key area is always immaculate and comfortable. The water and mountain views are breath taking. We also rent Cabin 6 and it gives us the best of both worlds, being close to all the family with a place to go if you just want a little peace and quiet. The cabin is also well decorated and equiped. We have had little reason to contact the owners but they have always been available for us. I would be delighted to recommend Cedar Key as the best vacation home for all ages. My husband does use a cane but can get around just fine, the walk down to the water, via the road is a wonderful way to get a little exercise on vacation.

A wonderful week!

LAD Pawleys Island, SC
Review Submitted: April 21, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
My husband and I are seasoned travelers and we both think this week was one of the best vacations we've ever had! The Lodge was lovely, with beautiful views of the water and mountains. Upon arrival, we were delighted to find it VERY clean, furnished beautifully and we loved the beautiful, well supplied kitchen and lovely bathrooms!! Especially the master bath! The deck, overlooking the mountains and water was the most serene spot. We enjoyed most of our meals out there as well. If you don't want to cook, there are good restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The Lodge also has a beautiful stone fireplace that has also encouraged us to come back in the fall. If you are looking for a beautiful spot, great house with super amenities, you can't go wrong! We will be back every year!!
