Amazing & memorable vacation!

When taking a summer vacation with my parents plus our 2 year old, we wanted a place within 3-4 hours of NYC and where we could relax, get away from it all, and enjoy some lake time. And Brandy Hill Island did not disappoint us at all (except for water pressure in the shower, but that was minor inconvenience)! The lake is beautiful with many nice properties surrounding it, and being in the middle of the lake on the island offers beautiful views from many angles. The fishing was pretty good, even for amateurs like my dad and I, and we had a delicious bass dinner one evening with our largest catch (Rich, the owner, provided various tips and even a lake map with his favorite hot spots). It was very nice that the island comes with various boats and we took a sunset cruise every night in the pontoon boat (we noticed everyone on the lake does that, it's great!). While we were on the island, the NE experienced a massive heat wave so being away from my central AC was making me nervous. I'm happy to say even without window/wall units, the house and island were fine in 100+ temps. There is always at least a nice breeze moving air around, and plenty of shade and obviously the lake for swimming/cooling off. When we went to the mainland on one of the hot days, the heat differential from the island to the mainland was drastic (lack of wind/breeze on the mainland vs constant breeze on the island). All in all I would recommend Brandy Hill Island to almost anyone, and it is sure to make for a very memorable vacation (when else will you have an entire island to yourself?!?). Thanks again!!! A+++

You touched on a very good point while being up at the island during the heat wave. The question I receive the most is - Do you have AC?- My answer is similar as you stated in your review. BHI's unique placement on the quaint pond and the shade of our trees offers a pleasant breeze and environment even during a heat wave. The difference between the island's temperature and the mainland temperature has always amazed us. Brandy Hill Island is a self sufficient property with solar power and propane power. It is an amazing spot for vacation.
