Not sure if this would rate as poor or fair!
My family and I had a 10 day stay at this villa.
During our stay there were several issues inside of the villa. The owner appeared to be very busy with her own personal business and matters. She sent a housekeeper to try and resolve the issues. To name the simplest issues: she informed us that her toilet tissue order was on back order, leaving us to go purchase our own till she could provide some. Contractors and an exterminator had also been sent for repairs/ service during our stay causing us to feel uncomfortable in their presence as they were strangers to us and we wanted to just relax and enjoy our vacation without such disturbances!
In an effort to be fair to this villa owner, I will not get into details of further conditions of this villa, as I have sent them to her in a private
e-mail which by the way, she claimed they disappointed her and this was the first of such complaints! Being this is the first review of her villa here on homeaway.com, I can not imagine that all she ever had were "good or great reviews" If this were the case, she has had this property listed for several years (SINCE 2008 according to this site) and there is not ONE review posted!
There are several other villas in this same Dorado Del Mar location on this site for rent and they have multiple GREAT reviews! The property location and safety were superb! There are Beautiful golf courses surrounding the villa. The Embassy suits are nearby which was a plus! We were told we could use their beach facilities and we did with gratitude! It was a saving grace to our stay in Dorado. The communal pool was perfect for keeping our children outdoors and busy while we relaxed outside of this villa.
In my opinion, if you are looking for an IMMACULATE place to stay, this villa is NOT where you may want to stay. If you are looking for an economical place and are not concerned with well maintained (to say the least) properties, this may suit your needs.
I would not stay here ever again and would certainly explore the other properties for rent at this location as there are a variety to choose from in better conditions offering sincere hospitality.
The owner claims via e-mail that she has hired contractors to evaluate the property and ensure that the "mishaps" as she refers to them do not ever happen again.
Owner's Response: As a long customer of Home away I have always made sure all my renters are satisfied to the extreme with their stay. Ive let this family see and visit the property prior to the rental and they loved it. We had two mishaps during their stay there were ants outside the patio due to the heavy rains we had during the Emily storm and also there was a problem with the elevator cause it was overloaded by the tenants and as a responsible landlord I sent my crew over. I have rented this Villa for years and since this is my first ever negative review I am contacting all my previous renters so they can share their comments about their stay. I always leave a guest comment card on the counter top so my customers can leave any feedback positive or negative so we can make any arrangements if there are any complaints. None of the Villas around ours have wine cellar, quartz counter tops, golf cart, BBQ and built in elevator. We offer internet service and full cable TV. and many other amenities the other rental units do not offer. I have offered this tenant a free stay in our Villa but this was taken on the personal side and did not take advantage of our offer.
