Best value for the space, great location

I recently stayed here with friends and another couple. I always spend a lot of time researching places before I go and this unit was an excellent choice. Here's what you need to know: this unit is in an old hotel that was devastated by a hurricane some years ago. It is now a condo property with a communal pool, communal parking lot, easy access to Orient beach, and a short walk to the Beach Clubs. However, I do not recommend this place for handicapped people simply because the property is on a hill and would be too hard to walk around if you have a disability. The entire apt has been renovated with modern amenities. The furniture is simple and contemporary-the place actually looks better in person. As of Jan 2011, the pool was still under construction, but it looks like it will be very nice when completed. The owner lives in France, speaks English, and was easy to rent from. Her local contact who greeted us does not speak English, but was very pleasant. (You should know some French if you choose to stay on the French side). Although this property is in a residential and quiet area, it is very close to Pinel, restaurants and nightlife in Grand Case or Marigot. The US supermarket is down the road as well as pharmacies. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. As for first timers, come with an open mind. This is afterall a self catered property and very different from staying in a hotel.
