We hope you will want to experience our Baldy Lake Escape this summer. Our retreat is located on Baldy Lake, which is 15 miles from the Munising/Pictured Rocks area. Secluded on 10 acres & surrounded by Federal Forest land, Baldy Lake Retreat is quiet , peaceful and a nice place to relax and get away. Our retreat is rustic with no phone, TV, or water & yet a fun place to be. We offer 1 bedroom downstairs with a double size bed. The loft has 1 double bed and 3 twin size beds. The bathroom is rustic with a composting toilet & battery operated shower to draw water up from a container filled with heated water. The kitchen/dining area has a gas range, gas refrigerator, wood stove & gas lights are located throughout this cozy cottage. The kitchen/living room walls are done in tongue & groove aspen & decorated just like 'camp' with some of the family's game hung on the walls. There is a screened in porch for visiting & watching wildlife on the lake. A fishing boat & canoe is provided

Peace and Quiet

I found Baldy Lake to be peaceful and quiet. The cabin was clean and user friendly. Many ammenities provided (ie: pot, pans, silverware, dishes, linens, and towels). It is a rustic cabin so no running water or electricity, but if you like rustic camping, this is way better. You get the rusticness of the area, but the comfort of a bed, and shelter from any rain. Wildlife can be seen on the property and the surrounding area. Such as deer, cranes, turtles, and many species of birds. I spent several days just at the cabin, but did see several sites that the Munising area had to offer. There are some wonderful hiking trails, the opportunity to see some great waterfalls, and really something for everyone. I spent a relaxing 2 weeks in the area and would definetly come back again.
