What Things Are There To Do in the Area?:
The list is long, as there are so many opportunities for things to do in the immediate area. Of course, exploring wineries, vineyards, and tasting rooms is an attraction that draws visitors to Wine Country. But exploring will reveal that other family fun and outdoor adventures abound, as well. A Canoe Trip Down the Russian River, Bicycling Our Country Roads, Picnicking overlooking Vineyards, Strolling through the big trees at Armstrong Redwoods State Park, taking Scenic Drives to beautiful Ocean Beaches where you can explore tide pools, beach comb, or whale watch. Tour Art Galleries, follow 'Fram Trails' maps leading to fresh produce at the source, soak in natural Hot Springs spas and Mud Baths in nearby Calistoga, soar overhead with a Hot Air Balloon trip, visit Charming Shops and Antique Malls surrounding the town Plaza in Healdsburg, enjoy free Public Concerts at the gazebo,weekly local Farmer's Markets, and many Special Events throughout the year.
What Things Are There To Do At the House?:
The charming cottage has an ideal location on the river, just a mile from town. Its big, shaded deck invites relaxation. There are oversized lounge chairs to help encourage you to lay back and laze the hours away watching the river and passing canoes. The dock, just below the deck, is a very special place. You will not forget the time you spend there taking in the beauty of the scenery and listening to the silence, punctuated by the occasional jumping of a fish. There's a hammock mid-level between the deck and the dock, for hanging out in comfort. When it's time to eat the patio dining tables on the deck, and the Weber gas barbeque grill are ready for use. If you're adventuresome, there are two kayaks waiting for you at the dock, or you can swim in the temperate, clear waters; and there's the hot tub to soak in. There are also two fishing poles available for use, with tackle supplied (license required). There are binoculars and books to identify local birds, and much more!
Will I be Comfortable?:
The cottage is the perfect place for a comfortable stay. The beds are especially comfortable to assure you'll have a great night's sleep each night. Besides the ultra-plush queen size mattresses, both the pillows and mattresses are encased in 'Allergy Guard' covers to assure you have the best sleeping environment. The cozy living room has a gas fireplace, comfortable furnishings, a TV, a leather recliner, and leather sofa. Everything is sparkling clean. (We use environmentally friendly,non-toxic cleaning products.) The kitchen is well supplied with all the necessities, dishes, glassware, pots and pans. We also provide lots of basics, spices, condiments, coffee filters, etc.. There are two convenient bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. Both have hair dryers, fluffy towels, and organic shower soaps. There's an 'on demand' hot water system so there's no worry about running out of hot water.
