Garden Apartment - 2 Bedrooms - 2 Baths - (Sleeps 2-6)

Our Southbank garden apartment, in the new heart of London, is 100 yards from The Thames behind The OXO Tower between Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge.

Our apartment is on the first and second floors of a small, modern block of 16 apartments. The first floor comprises of a living room and full kitchen. There are patio doors onto a beautiful, planted deck with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is also a double bedroom and shower room on this floor. There is also a a third bedroom with bunk beds suitable for two children or one adult.. On the second floor is an en suite master bedroom overlooking the garden deck. There is an elevator.

We are very close to the cultural heart of London including The National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Royal Festival Hall, National Film Theatre, Tate Modern, Globe Theatre and The London Eye. There are lots of places nearby to eat and drink to cover all tastes and budgets.

Location: We are ten minutes from two tube stops (Waterloo and Blackfriars), which have 5 lines between them as well as British Rail services. For the most picturesque walk along The River, we use Embankment Station, which takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on how many photos you take!

Eating: We have plenty of places nearby to eat including two very good restaurants in The OXO Tower, which have great views. There are lots of less expensive restaurants within a short distance, many overlooking The River, and a couple of pubs on The River that serve food and drink throughout the day.It truly is the best location in London!

David and Julia have always loved the culture of London's South Bank and when the opportunity arose to purchase an apartment they couldn't believe their luck.

They have a seven years' old son, Sebastian.

Julia is a professional, classical singer having trained at The Royal College of Music. Since the birth of Sebastian she has been a full time Mum fitting in the occasional concert.

David is a full time Dad and says it's the best thing he has ever done!

The South Bank is the vibrant cultural centre of London. Our apartment is near Tate Modern, he world's most visited art gallery and a host of other attractions including The Globe Theatre, St Pauls, The National Theatre,National Film Theatre, Hayward Gallery, The Royal Festival Hall, London Eye etc etc.

We are within walking distance of theatreland and Covent Garden and there are lots and lots of places to eat and drink to suit all tastes and budgets.

Public transport is fabulous particularly the RV1 bus which stops outside our apartment block and runs, mainly along The River from Tower Hill to Covent Garden via Waterloo. It is a very frequent service. Taxis are abundant.

Superbly located London apartment

Superbly located apartment a stone's throw from the London Eye, with many of London's top attractions within walking distance. We never had to travel more than 6 tube stops to go anywhere that we wanted to go, including the O2, which we went to via a sunny boat trip on a Thames Clipper, and returned via the underground.

We were there on a sunny week, and the patio garden was greatly appreciated, as was the piano, which our 12 year old son loved.

There are lots of good local restaurants within 10 minutes, and Borough Market on Thursday, Friday and Saturday is fabulous for picnic fodder, fruit, cheese and mouthwatering cakes.

Apartment is well equipped and clean, with everything that we needed for our week's stay. Welcome groceries were much appreciated.

We will definitely book this again for our next trip to London.

What a perfect location! We are a family of five and it was so nice for everyone to have their own bed! 3 bedrooms, cozy and clean! And really, walking distance to anything, or easy access to public transport.

A+ Stay In A Perfect Location

Julia, David and Sebastion have a lovely place to share with visitors, and we were so lucky to discover them! It is impossible to imagine a better spot to launch explorations of the sights, the theatre, the fabulous Thames, and all that London has to offer. The gorgeous apartment was so comfortable for our party of three adults. We made full use of the garden for breakfast and cocktail hours. The separation of the two bedrooms and baths on two different floors offered a great deal of privacy, and the lift stopped at both floors for ease of access. The kitchen was well appointed for meals taken at home and included a welcome washer/dryer. We eagerly anticipate our next stay!

Amazing

This is a most welcoming place...one feels "at home" straight away...
We had a very warm welcome from Julia's parents ...such kind people..
The description of the condo is totally accurate and the location was wonderful. My husband enjoyed his morning run along the Thames , we walked around the neighbourhood safely, and found nice pub places, shops and a great , lively night-time atmosphere .
I would recommend ,without hesitation, to anyone to consider this wonderful home away from home...
My only regret was that I had to leave !

Fantastic Stay!!

My husband and I along with my parents stayed at David and Julia's apartment in London for just over 2 weeks. Everything was great! The apartment size was perfect and had everything we could possibly need. David had stocked the fridge with essentials which was fantastic. We were steps away from the Thames and very close to the tube and walking distance to Trafalgar square. The apartment was very clean. I found that David was very accommodating and easy to deal with which I truly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in London. This would be my first choice should I return to London.

Excellent

This flat is perfect to explore Central London. It is steps from the river walk along the Thames, and very close to Blackfriars and Waterloo stations. Central London is just a walk across the river. The Southbank area is a great spot to stay. Not too touristy, except the actual riverfront, with several good pubs and restaurants catering to locals located nearby. The flat has a great garden terrace, and has all the amenities. The owner, David, was very helpful - especially when our arrival was unexpectedly delayed. I can highly recommend. Thanks again David.

They are all within a five to ten minutes walk along the river bank . A little further and you would reach The London Eye, The Houses of Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. If you cross Waterloo Bridge, Covent Garden is two minutes away.
