This condo was in a perfect spot off Miramar Beach. It was a quieter area. The beach is a private, gated access area. You are not on top of other beachgoers, kids, umbrellas & noise. It is very private feeling. Plenty of beach area to enjoy, too.
The walkway from the condo to the beach, just across the street, is perfect, NOT far at all. Some places you rent you walk through weeds and bugs and a makeshift walkway to the beach. This is NOT what you will find here. It is like walking the yellow brick road to the beach in the condo area, then you cross a paved walkway with a pedestrian crossing light.
The condo itself felt large and clean. The closets were spacious enough that someone could've seriously slept in there with a blow up mattress. The kitchen was big and living area felt comfortable. The couches were soft and comfy. We really appreciated the washer & dryer for clean towels every so often.
You can see the pools, fountain and walkway from the condo, as well as the ocean. These tiny frogs sing each night to talk to one another and serenade you, too. It was lovely! You can walk up the paved walkway to the beach store for rafts, flips or trinkets. You can walk to rent scooters, too. This walkway is great for jogs, rollerblading, biking, you name it.
The pools were a nice treat after being at the beach all day, and lighted tennis courts are a plus for use at night when it is cooler.
I enjoyed not having a ton of young children running up and down the hallways in the morning, playing in the elevator and screaming through the pool area. Although we saw some families with children, I would say the crowd here was more grown up. There were teenagers we played beach volleyball with and lots of families, but I never noticed noise... and liked it!
You are close to a Winn Dixie and Publix is not far, either. Several great dining spots are just right up the beach. We love the Crab Trap, enjoyed Captain Dave's, and several places on into Destin. Check out Another Broken Egg in the Baytowne Wharf. This location is not as packed as the one in Destin, and shopping and dining here is fun, too. Great people watching and they often have fireworks at night!
Lunch or brunch at the Water Grille in Destin is fun. Great boat watching here. You can rent jet skis or shop in this area, too. Brunch is on Sundays only. Lunch is great. The mini garlic bread loaves are yummy!
A perfect vacation spot & Kaye couldn't be nicer!
