Driftwood is a recently completed Ponderosa lodge style retreat with fantastic views. There are 5 bedrooms: a king bed master bedroom, a queen in 2nd bedroom, and a loft bedroom w/queen bed. There is also a 2nd loft bedroom with 2 twin beds designed for children, and a king bed in the sitting area. Downstairs are 2 bedrooms with a queen and 2 twin beds. A sleeper sofa & futons help to accommodate large gatherings. It is ideal for family reunions, birthdays, and anniversaries. All 4 bathrooms come with walk in showers. There are two living rooms plus a sitting room that all have Direct T.V. There are lots of outdoor space including an outdoor fireplace, sitting areas to enjoy your ocean views, and the 'hot tub'. You are a 5 minute walk to 2 restaurants, and a cocktail bar with fantastic ocean views at the Carmel Highlands Inn. 180 degree views of the Highlands coast.

Western ranch style decor with plenty of space to spread out. Well maintained home as described, great views from sitting room and patios. Lovely grounds with a very short walk to Highlands Inn. Quiet with a distant sound of the ocean. Rooms are set up to accommodate good size groups and still maintain your own space. Will return in the future.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Amazing house for a group of friends

This house is really great. I organized a trip for a large group and heard only compliments. We stayed 2 nights to celebrate our graduation from graduate school and already started planning our reunions at the Driftwood lodge!

The views are great, the house is vrey comfortable and very nicely decorated. The outside deck with fireplace was the favourite spot for the group.


Phil, who manages the rental, was always very professional, polite and pleasant. I always felt that he was being honest and straighforward. I enjoyed dealing with him. The process of renting the house was very easy.

In Summary, I recommend this house to anyone who might be interested in spending some great times with a group of friends.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Amazing vacation rental

This rental fit just right for our large group of 15 people. Everyone had a wonderful time and was highly impressed with the furnishings, the view, and the overall atmosphere of the place.
The description and pictures give a good overall view of this place. Be aware there is no large eating area (like a dining room) so it can be difficult if you're taking food to cook. If you're eating out then this would not be a problem.
Very well-maintained house and great service from the agent. Highly recommended, especially for large groups.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
