The perfect vacation rental on a large private wooded lot close to the beach. 4 min walk to the beach, south side "Beach side" of 30-A. It’s part of The Beaches of South Walton, within walking distance of Goatfeathers Restaurant, and a short drive to Destin or Seaside. Gilligan recommends it, and so do we!
First Floor:(up one stairway): Living Room (with sleeper sofa), Dining Room (Table sits 8), New Kitchen with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops; Queen bedroom, full hall bath, Gulf-facing balcony.
Second Floor: #2 Bedroom with Queen, Twin bunks, Full Size Crib, full bath; King master bedroom with full bath and Gulf-facing balcony and two closets.

My wife and I first visited from Colorado in 2000, bought the SS Minnow in 2002. We fell in love with the area and moved down full time in 2003, started a real estate sales company (The Beach Group) and to this day say it is the best decision that we ever made.
Our favorite location on Scenic 30-A. Quiet street, very close to the beach, gulf views, private pool, close to everything that 30-A has to offer.

We couldn't be happier with our stay at SS Minnow. From the easy process of working with the rental company and payment, to service provided while on our stay. It was second to none.
This was our first time staying at a vacation rental property and we'll never stay in any other type of property again. The SS Minnow was clean and very spacious for our family of four. We all had room to spread out. The bedrooms were big, the living space was spacious and well appointed. The pool was awesome. Having heat in late March was a must. The location was perfect. Only a short 5min walk to the quiet beautiful beach. This is a public beach, but never got crowded even during springs break. We were also very close to shops, restaurants and a great bike trail which winded all along 30A to many quaint towns.
Again, a top notch property, great rental service and the location couldn't be beat!
House is nestled on a quiet road, with very easy walking access to the beach (under 5 minutes with beach gear and taking your time). The area was very quiet and peaceful with not a lot of traffic or noise. The driveway has enough space to park 3-4 cars easily. There is a pool and two charcoal grills. We didn't use either with it being March. The master bedroom has a terrific bathroom with a huge walk in closet and direct access to a covered porch facing the ocean. There are also two other sizable rooms for sleeping, one is geared towards children, and another which could hold another couple. We had plenty of amenities provided and appreciated (soaps, shampoos, dish liquid, etc.). The kitchen was sizable and everything worked great. Everything was clean, and well kept.
Because we were on vacation the house made our days that much more relaxing. The real gem of this property is the location. Outside of taking nice daily beach walks before exploring the total area, your only a few minutes from whatever you need. Santa Rosa is almost directly in the middle of everything! We drove 30A every day, and exploring each area was highly enjoyable. U.S. 98 is a typical highway in Florida, but 30A is a great road to travel. It was very nice to be almost equidistant from Destin proper and the 30A towns.
Within walking distance of the house is Goatfeathers (great seafood), a beach equipment rental shop, and a handful of boutiques. Parking is a breeze and you could easily get by using your bike.
As for the beach itself, very clean, not too crowded, life guard generally on duty, and everything you could expect from the ocean, crystal clear water, with soft sugar sand.
All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better vacation or a rental property and will be coming back next year!!
We arrived on Saturday night and were very happy with what we saw. 5 adults/4 kids and the house was very comfortable for all of us. Super clean and updated. The washer and dryer were very convenient. Having a generous size refrigerator, deep sink and dishwasher was a plus. The kids retreat was a very nice size. The master bedroom has a great balcony. We enjoyed the open concept of the kitchen/living room area. The distance from the beach was another great advantage. We were a 2 minute walk to the white sand beach. Lifeguards on duty, restrooms, outdoor shower access and a covered picnic pavilion made for a great day at the beach. The parking area was great and the heated pool was a must have in March. We had a problem with the pool not heating a few times that week but they had someone out there shortly after we called every time. There is a charcoal grill next to the pool which is great. Loved the neighborhood/ 30A area. Lots of shops/restaurants near by but somehow doesn't feel totally touristy. Walmart close by. We had a great time at this house and look forward to returning.
The house was perfect for us and our 4 year old, but could've handled more. We loved the community and being able to walk to the beach. Once at the beach, we walked a little ways to the west and had the beach to ourselves. Our daughter chased the birds to her heart's content, and there wasn't anyone around to restrict her. GoatFeathers on the corner was great, and their seafood market was convenient. We enjoyed the private pool and the natural landscaping gave it great privacy. Have been recommending it to friends and family. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your home.
We stayed at the SS Minnow for a week over Thanksgiving 2011, with my husband and 2 children. Home was like new and very well kept. Good view from Master Bedroom deck but not living room deck. Very nice pool area, plenty of parking. New TV's were in the Master and Living Room for the week we arrived which were an added bonus. Short walk to the beach and close to restaurants. We especially liked "Fire" and "Stinky's". Highly recommend, we will be back!
Very nice place. We had hoped for a better view - it's just hard to tell from pictures what you're gonna have 'till you get there. The beds were very comfortable, it was clean and had most things in the kitchen that you would need. In the master bedroom the bi-fold closet door fell over on me when we arrived. We called and maintenance arrived the next day to fix it. The gas grill was pretty diry......and it wouldn't light. When the maintenance guy was there, my husband talked with him about it. You have to light it with a long candle lighter because the igniters don't work. We tried to burn off some of the mess but ended up not even trying to use it. The mosquitos were bad at night so we couldn't get in the pool. We've stayed on Betty Street at other homes for the past 3 years and have always seen the mosquito spraying trucks. We didn't see any this year so that may account for the increase in mosquitos. All in all it was a good stay. Nice home - plenty of room - comfortable bed - pretty much everything you need. We would recommend it. As far as activities....if you like wine, go to The Naked Grape and try out their wine station. The Red Bar is a must!! Get a Bloody Mary - very good. Fish Out of Water is good for upscale casual dining and the Sticky Toffee Pudding Caake with ice cream is so delicious at Fire. Didn't like Goatfeathers as much this year. We've eaten there several times and it seems to have gone downhill. Seaside has so many neat little shops. Be sure and visit the book/record store. Bookstore on the bottom, record store upstairs. We could spend hours in there.
