Comfortable cabin on the slopes of Mt. Princeton (14,197 feet). It is situated at 9,000 feet in a gorgeous ponderosa pine forest. It has a very private deck with a beautiful view of Mt. Yale (14,196 feet) and a pond surrounded by cottonwoods and aspens (amazing fall colors!!).
Nearly a perfect location only minutes from dozens of trails for hiking and mountain biking; less than 10 minutes from the Arkansas River which has world-class rafting, kayaking, and fishing. Both Monarch Mountain Ski Area (45 minutes) and Ski Cooper (1 hour) are nearby and provide excellent alpine and Nordic skiing opportunities. There are countless backcountry skiing and snowmobiling areas within minutes. Horse boarding and expert local trail advice available.
Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is only 5 minutes away and Cottonwood Hot Springs is 10 minutes. Either is a great way to wrap up a spectacular day in the Upper Arkansas Valley...
More photos showing the other bedrooms, bathrooms, dining room, etc. are available upon request.
Cabin is conveniently located about 15 min. driving to Buena Vista and 5 min to the Mt Princeton Hot Springs Resort. Many activities are within a very short drive. During our trip we rafted on the Arkansas River, rode horses from the Mt. Princeton stables, visited the St. Elmo ghost town, drove a RZR to the top of Tincup pass, Zip-lined at Captain Zipline, and rode mountain bikes down the Mosquito Range all within a short distance from the cabin.
Both bathrooms are updated and very nice. We cooked several meals in the cabin with no issue. There's no TV signal or WI-FI, but there is a nice kitchen table for family games and a DVD player/flat screen in the living room for family movie night.
The bedrooms are not large by today's standards, but this is a great cabin at about 8,000 feet that is close to all activities Central Colorado has to offer.
Don't expect a 4 star hotel, but we left with memories that we would never find in a 4 star hotel type of vacation.
Great cabin, on maybe a 1/2 acre in a rural, wooded "neighborhood." Great for our family of 4 for a long weekend in summer - cozy and clean. Perfect location to explore town, the Arkansas, the hot springs, or many of the nearby hikes. Excellent linens! Owner was courteous and helpful with questions.
A peaceful setting which feels remote yet is near everything! Hot springs, rafting, town etc... A home with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths- (1 a small bunk bed room just for kids! which has a closet filled with games). kitchen, deck- no phone or TV service which adds a sense of being away from it all. Property was clean and well maintained. Owner quickly responded to questions.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights and had a great time. We could hike Mt. Princeton/mountain bike 5 minutes from the house, and the Mt. Princeton hot springs were just 5 minutes away too. It would have been a great place to be with kids as well. Buena Vista has a couple good restaurants, and the rafting on the Arkansas was great despite the low water levels. The owner got back to us right away and was very friendly. The bathrooms were recently redone and very nice. Also, the had some rockin' Calphalon knives that made cooking very easy. We hope to take our kids back here next year.
This cute and cozy cabin was the perfect spot for our much needed weekend get away! The cabin was very cozy with all the accommodations that we needed! It had a real nice deck out back with beautiful views of the Collegiate Range. It was very quiet with a nice comfy bed to sleep in at the end of the day! It is at the base of Mt. Princeton which was perfect since we had planned to hike it! It is also close by to hot springs and biking trails. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice mountain get-away!
The cabin was awesome for our girls trip. A beautiful location with woods all around, very clean and very roomy. Would totally stay here again when head to Buena Vista.
