Overview

Helen Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, One Romantic Bedroom, One Small Bedroom, Sleeps 5

Visit the Famous 'Mystic Mountain Hideaway'.

Enveloped by 20 acres of pristine land, on the outskirts of Alpine Helen, is Mystic Mountain Hideaway. As you turn into the mountain trail toward this inviting log cabin all of the sights and sounds of the city disappear. You hear a trickle of water, and everything you see and smell is lush, dense, and green. This log cabin is like a vacation treasure chest full of life waiting to nurture your needs. The deer, and wild turkey are content to share their land with you. You may want to go down the mountain to fish in the, trout filled, Chattahoochee River. The fish are there to serve you. Our land is joined to 50,000 acres of National Forest, and we are a hop, skip, and a jump from Unicoi State Park, Ana Ruby Falls, and Downtown Helen. Mystic Mountain Hideaway is the perfect place to let your inner child come out and play. Enjoy the indoors & enjoy the outdoors in your own secluded universe.

Secluded: This secluded cabin on the mountain is 2/10's of a mile off the main highway, and 3/10' of a mile from the river. It is wooded, and very private. The springtime is beautiful. The property has a lot of dogwoods, azaleas, mountain laurels, daffodils, fern, and several blueberry bushes. Even though you can't hear any cars or city sounds, you can be at your favorite restaurant downtown Helen in less than 5 minutes.

Weddings: Small Cabin Weddings are available at Mystic Mountain Hideaway, and the surrounding area.

Celebrating 32 Years of Marriage With Some Us Time!

  • 5 of 5

First let me begin by saying that even though we have never met in person, I feel like I have made a friend through emails - Pam, the owner, is a sincere and wonderful lady interested in making every renters experience a pleasurable one.

The cabin has charm and warmth was evident the minute you walked in. It was clean and I am neurotic about cleanliness! Furnished with everything to make your stay feel like home from furniture, appliances, linens, kitchen needs, TV, collection of leisure entertainment-books, videos, DVDs, hammock, hot tub .. and more! From napping in the hammock to relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking, we were able to unwind. Sitting on the porch swing drinking coffee or sipping wine and watching the sun stream through the trees and listen to the rain was the best. The surroundings are beautiful and so secluded yet so close to Helen. Not so interested in the "tourist" life of Helen, the cabin was a great central location to drive a half hour in any direction to find great trails in the many state parks to hike. The small towns nearby were charming and wineries! We never ran out of hiking trails from Unicoi, Ravens Cliff, Tallulah Gorge, Black Rock Mountain, Anna Ruby Falls, and the one we never made it to -Panther Mountain. Farmer Markets nearby, Mark of the Potter, and country stores in Sautee Nacoochee. After tiring days, the couch was my favorite to curl up on and sleep and my husband loved the recliner along with a wonderful mattress on the bed upstairs! Throughout the area including right at the cabin are so many beautiful photo opportunities!

I could go on but you get the idea - a great cabin to rent for some calm from your daily life!

Wonderful dream of a place

  • 5 of 5

I really needed a stress reliever and mystic hideaway was just the ticket. Well worth the money, and I plan to do it again! I have told all my friends about it, and they are interested, too. What a wonderful, stress-free, peaceful place to be. I am so thankful to the owners for sharing this treat.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was adorable and had everything we could ask for, not to mention it was very clean! We loved the fact that it was very secluded, yet still close to town. Pam was easy to reach and very sweet. We brought our two dogs and spent most of our time at Unicoi State Park (only $5 to park.) The first day, we hiked Smith Creek Trail from the park up to Anna Ruby Falls - a 10 mile round trip, but it is doable if you give yourself enough time and pack some high energy snacks and plenty of water for yourself and furry friends. After 6 hours of hiking, the hot tub was the perfect place to relax! We picked up pizza from Village Tavern Pizza and it was very good (The Big Cheese was my personal favorite). The next day, we returned to Unicoi and chose the easy Lake Trail (about 3 miles) and then walked around some small shops downtown. That night we tried out the German restaurant behind Wendy's and it was great. I can't say enough about what a great time we had and how much we loved this cozy cabin. We can't wait to come back soon!!!

Our stay at The Mystic.....Necessary for my health

  • 5 of 5

First I want to thank you for being pet friendly. They are our babies now. The location is a perfect one for hikers, going down the river and oh so close for my husband's favorite fudge in the world. I enjoy spending the night in the double bed (a single bed is up over the double). The upstairs is such a great room and the mattress is great. We did not want for a thing...not even in the kitchen. All furniture is comfortable and is in great condition. Hot tub is great and so is the fire pit. Only thing you need to bring is your toothbrush and toothpaste. We brought fire wood from home and left a good bunch on the front porch for the next visitor. I give every thing 5 stars and I will be going back.

Amazing Vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

I just want to start by saying Pam was an kind, patient and a true pleasure to work with!! My family had an amazing time hanging out in the hot tub : ) The entire cabin is extremely clean and there is plenty of dishware provided so did lots of cooking while we were there. I am personally very fond of the cookies at Betty's Country Store (as a side note).

We are already trying to see when we can fit another visit in our schedules.

Thank you again, we had a beautiful and memorable vacation!!

Fantastic, mountaintop, secluded, tree house!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay immensely. This cabin afforded all the amenities necessary for a good time. The pictures and information provided represent the “Mystic Mountain Hideaway” really well and after reviewing the site, we were fully prepared for our stay. We were a little hesitant upon first sight of the driveway leading up to the cabin-it was steep and rather bumpy-but my Dodge Caliber made it up with no problems in low gear. While I think the heating system was struggling a little, there were plenty of electric heaters and comforters to more than make up for the HVAC system; not to mention the fire place! The owners left no stone unturned and answered all of our questions prior to the stay. They even left an instruction booklet outlining nice to know information for the cabin like the operation of lights, door locks, heaters, hot tub, emergencies, maintenance numbers, and such, along with an all-in-one tourist guide for the area. This trip was exactly as we pictured it would be and I would definitely recommend this cabin as a romantic getaway for two or a vacation for the entire family.

Owner's Response: Thanks Andrew, I saw your note regarding "the heat seemed to be struggling" so I decided to go up to check it. Sure enough, it was on it's last leg. We were able to get a brand new heat & air system installed before the next guest arrived. Thank you for the information, and I'm glad you had such a great time. Blessings, Pam

Notes:
Take a break, and submerge yourself in the bubbling hot tub pumped with mineral spring water and enjoy the view. Star gaze at night, and look for the deer playing and the wild turkey's feeding on the land. You won't see any people or cars at this cabin, but you will see nature at its most pure. There is a lot of fun to be had at this cabin while you rest and renew yourself. This cabin is a vacation experience within itself. When you add the fun of the City of Helen, and all of its surrounding outdoor activities you have it all!!! Mystic Mountain Hideaway is cared for lovingly, and maintained as a non-toxic cabin including cleaning with green products, and using only herbal and natural pesticides to spray our land. Come play, have fun, and help keep this a healthy and pure environment for us, and all of our animal friends who live here.
