12 Los Altos – “Vista del Salto” will comfortably accommodate 1 or 2 families. It is located in the exclusive Community of Los Altos which offers to all of its residents and guests, the full use of its indoor swimming pool, steam room, outdoor tennis court(s)and basketball. Only minutes from your front door you can be skiing or snowboarding at Taos Ski Valley, or hiking and fishing in the ever green Carson National Forrest.

Cozy retreat in perfect location

We stayed at this property in Feb 2014 for our first ski vacation with our 2 and 4 year olds. We drove up from Texas and absolutely loved the home and the location of Arroyo Seco. It was right between the Taos Ski Valley and the town of Taos. Quiet little neighborhood right outside of Arroyo Seco. We didn't get much snow while we were there, and there was no snow at the house, but there was snow on the mountain--sounded like it was unusual for Taos. The house had huge windows with pretty views of the mountain and a couple window seats perfect for reading and lounging. The master bedroom was a haven with huge bed, bathroom, fireplace and two large swivel leather rockers. The fire places and hot tub were a treat. We were also able to park our car in the garage. Note: The neighborhood indoor pool was freezing even though it was supposed to be heated. The only negative about the house, which may be nitpicky, was that the heater in the twin bedroom was separate from the house and a little noisy for our 2 year old who stayed in that room. We enjoyed Doc Martins at the Taos Inn for dinner, Outback Pizza for lunch and the Farmhouse restaurant for breakfast. The Taos Mesa Brewery Co. was cool. We also were thrilled with the Taos Ski Valley Ski School for the kids. Our 4 year old did morning and afternoon lessons with lunch in the middle, and our 2 year old did the "day care" type school. They loved it, and we loved it. I've never left our children at any sort of resort or hotel day care before, so I was a little nervous, but it had great reviews. We were impressed with the staff, facility, cleanliness, and variety of toys, ride-ons, games, ski lessons etc. We'll be back!

Best VRBO Ever

We spent a week in Taos in this home with a family of 5. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this was one of the very best. Beth and Joel were great in the planning, arrangements, etc. The rooms in this house are huge and the amenities are perfect. The home is beautiful with incredible views. My only regret was that this was not winter and I could not burn all the wood they provided in the 4 Kivas in this great home. This location is the best, being situated between many sites such as the Rio Grande Gorge, Santa Fe, Taos itself, and Taos Ski Valley. One of the things I look for in a VRBO arrangement is professionalism and integrity of the home owner. Beth and Joel were top notch in communication, and in providing a very reasonable lease agreement. It was professionally drafted and protected us both, which is very important when we all really don't know each other. I strongly recommend this home to anyone

Like dealing with good neighbors

Property owners, Joel and Beth have been at this for a minute. They represent the home in photos and describe it exactly as you will find it. Set up your holiday at 12 Los Altos with complete confidence. Joel is super responsive, executes the agreement with ease and efficiency. Beth is luckety split fast wit the return if a deposit. This couple interacts as though they are you long time good neighbor. Oh yeah, the digs are pretty sweet too. Enjoy.

Wonderful!

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at this property.
The house was perfect for our family of six with four children ranging from 10-15 years. It is spacious with EVERY amenity you could wish for. Mom appreciated the very well equipped kitchen with excellent appliances along with the large washer/dryer in the laundry room; dad appreciated the flat screen TVs and satellite channels; kids appreciated the hot tub and community pool just a few steps from the door.
The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There were lots of towels and additional bed linens. And so many special touches: board games, and a well stocked library. And what can I say about three fireplaces!
The setting is very peaceful and quite. We enjoyed the stars at night from the deck and watching the gophers play on the property next door.
The house is a safe 1 mile walk from the village of Arroyo Seco where we explored all the neat shops and of course, Taos Cow: excellent coffee and ice creams.
The house is within a 15min drive to Taos south or to Taos Ski Valley north.
Joel and Beth were most professional in helping us make the arrangements and very prompt in email communication. It was reassuring to know that Nancy, the local property manager was just a phone call away, although we did not need to call.
We would HIGHLY recommend this property as a vacation rental to friends and family and would be very happy to return in the future.

Wonderful Home!

One word to describe our stay at 12 Los Altos! WONDERFUL!!!
This house is warm and cozy - but yet gives lots of privacy with three large bedrooms. Windows facing the mountains to the front and mountains to the back with the most beautiful sunset I've even seen. October in Taos, sitting on the back deck watching the sunset - with a glass of wine and good friends! Life is great! In addition to the views and location, there was everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Abundance of bath linens and extra towels for the hot tub! We took a day trip to Santa Fe; one day trip on the Enchanted Circle and a day shopping Taos. Wonderful shops and food in both Taos and Santa Fe. We definitely want to go back to Taos and hope we will be able to share in the beauty and decor of 12 Los Altos. Great job -- Joel & Beth for making a beautiful getaway!!

Our family stayed at this property recently and had a fabulous experience. We LOVE Taos and visit frequently. We have found that this area is a hidden gem for many reasons. First- the views are amazing. Second- there is no traffic!! Third- it is ten minutes to the ski village and ten minutes to town which means it's you and the stars at night!
Joel and Beth have great taste. Their home is finished out with all the extras! We loved all the windows with the views and the hot tub was a favorite for sunset and sunrise! You will love this house. We are a family of five and it was more than enough. Thanks again Joel and Beth for sharing your lovely home. We are planning a trip back soon but I see your place is already in high demand for the summer! We can't wait to get back!
