Beautiful relaxing home in the finger lakes region, in the quaint little village of Trumansburg NY. Close to Ithaca, Cornel University, and Ithaca College. with 6 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, washer & dryer, dish washer, fire place, swimming pool , patio and huge lawn with beautiful gardens.

The house is within 5 minute's walking distance to: restaurants, taverns, antique store, drugstore, post office, grocery store, golf course, gift shop,

There are also many beautiful state parks on the lakes or with water falls and walking trails, all within a 10-30 minute drive.

Downtown Ithaca, Cornell and Ithaca Colleges are a 10-15 min. drive from Trumansburg.

About Barrie French

I own a Salon (Innovations Aveda Salon) for the past 19 years, And continue to work at my salon part time. After 15 years of working at my salon I needed a change. In 2001 I started a second small business, planning weddings and special events. In 2004 after spending more time working from my home, I decided to utilize our home that my Husband and I worked on renovating for 13 years. Hence The Baldwin House.

Why Barrie French chose Ithaca

I moved to Trumansburg as a very young child in 1969.

After moving about for a while between 1980-1993 I decided I wanted to be back in the Ithaca/Trumansburg or surrounding area. I was searching for a home to purchase but wasn't sure in what area. In 1998 I went to visit my mom as I often did, and noticed that The Baldwins Family House, 2 houses down from the house that I basically grew up in was fore sale. I never was in The Baldwin's home but I always loved how big it was, and the lawn and gardens always looked so perfect! My Husband and I called our realtor and asked if we could look at the house on 46 Elm st. ASAP. After 2 trips through the entire house and land, We knew this was the house for us, Despite the plaster peeling and falling off every single room in the house. My husband, Jeff is a carpenter among many other traits of building or renovating homes. I had always had a sense of design and a way of creating not so nice houses or apartments that I had rented, into very welcoming, comfortable, classy, and of course, always clean homes. After 12 years of renovating our very large house, 'The Baldwin House' We decided to offer our home to people that would be coming to this area for happy occasions such as, vacationing, weddings, College alumni, Cornell and Ithaca College Graduations, and family reunions.

What makes this house unique

My Husband and I love the location of our property. The house is located in the village of Trumansburg NY. The village has many things to offer within a short walk or drive. Although we are located in the Village of Trumansburg, It feels like we are in the country, while we are outside enjoying our pool, and gardens.

We are only a 10 minute drive to the city of Ithaca for when we need supplies that Trumansburg does not offer, or if we need a night out in the 'City'.

Cayuga Lake is part of the Barge Canal System which means you can boat from the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Ontario and all the way to Ithaca, Watkins Glen, Geneva, and more. Cayuga Lake is 42 miles long. The widest point is three-and-one-half miles. The deepest spot is 435 feet, so you better wear your life jacket!

Cayuga Lake is wonderful for all those who love wine, boating, fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, sunsets, moonbeams, and rainbows. Fishermen enjoy an over abundance of landlocked salmon, lake, brown, and rainbow trout, pickerel, pike, perch, bass, and smelt (in the spring).

Oh My! What a lovely home & gardens you have created here. We enjoyed every nook and cranny- especially the artistic, creative, lovely touches.
Thank you for having us. The pool was such a delight in the heat- & the grandchildren a ball. My husband and I repeated our wedding vows of 40 years ago with our children in a special little ceremony under the gazebo. Lots of photos and memories!! Many many thanks! We will be back to rent the Baldwin House again, soon.
