Napili Point - nearly perfect
Just returned from a week in Maui. The property is in the Napili Point Resort C-16. The pictures presented here are representative of what you'll find; it is very nice. You can google other units in the Resort for comparison.
Everything is very nice. The view is beautiful. Honokeana Bay is directly ahead. Sea turtles and surfers, humpbacks beyond! Napili Bay (the beach!) is accessible via a small path along the rocky (but very passable: even barefoot carrying beach chairs) point. You'll pass the Gazebo restaurant (great breakfast) along the way.
You could also cut through the parking lot (plenty of parking) past a few resorts along the busy, narrow road with no sidewalks to the public access path. There is a small general store here where you can buy your own toilet paper! (also snacks, or snorkeling gear, or those other must have nows!) This condo doesn't come with maid service, though the resort can provide this for an additional fee. There is a washer/dryer in the unit to keep your towels fresh though.
The resort is mostly quiet beyond the relaxing crashing waves. This unit is directly adjacent to a path leading along the north shore of the cove (very rocky for water access, dangerous with much surf. You can sneak through the neighboring condo to nice steps at the east tip of the cove) to the around the point towards Napili Bay. A bit of noise here well after sunrise with foot travel. The condos lawn will shelter you if the beach is too windy.
Kapalua Resort is very fancy and very close. Go a few blocks without sidewalks there is a beachfront trail leading up to the golf course. Kaanapali and Lahaina aren't a far drive. I suggest playing at the beach all day and then head into town for a sunset dinner.
We loved the lanai and adjacent seating area as the sun came up and after it set. Well equipped kitchen (stock up at Costco or Safeway rather than in napili, use if for small stuff).
There were four in our party. My wife and I staying in the downstairs bedroom. Comfy queen sized bed, felt very private except for the parking lot windows. No view to stop us from using the blinds there.
Our friends stayed in the loft. Very firm California King upstairs (had to get a memory foam from Costco; it did not remain in the condo). Our only qualms would be the stiff bed, running out of TP by the third day, and hot water is very short. The rain drop shower heads must be used in shifts.
Had a great time, would try to repeat it! 3/2/09

Owner's Response: Prior to each guest's arrival this condominium is stocked with fresh starter supplies of bath and hand soaps, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, toilet paper (at least two new rolls per bathroom), tissues, and miscellaneous other items. If these supplies are exhausted it is left to the discretion of the guest as to whether or not they choose to purchase additional supplies for their use.
