We placed much hard work in renovating our home and have placed much effort to making a perfect vacation suite that would make the most of the views that it has. We have been relay lucky to find such a great neighborhood within Victoria.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

We loved this hidden gem of a neighborhood that we found, and also the beautiful views of the mountains and ocean from the property.

We enjoy all this neighborhood offers within walking distance, a recreation centre, a library, grocery stores, various shops, restaurants, a kids play park, and a short walk to Saxe Point park on the ocean. The large decks provide a good deal of enjoyable outdoor space, with a wonderful view of the ocean and mountains. This is a very safe and friendly neighborhood that is centrally located.

A quaint place out of town yet close to it.

Our experience staying here mirrors most of the comments already posted. We arrived to find a suite that was very clean and well stocked. There were ample dishes, and linens. The outdoor patio (s0 is the place to spend most of the day to soak in some sun or lie in the hammock. The in-home wi-fi has a strong signal and its availability is a fantastic benefit if you are on an international phone plan.

The place is away from the city and the noise if you are looking for a quiet vacation spot yet close enough to grocery stores, banks and a 10-minute drive back downtown. The access to freeways through the back roads lets one avoid all the downtown traffic getting out of town.

Suggestions:
- As someone else suggested, a handrail and lighting around the stairs heading to the top unit.
- The television in the living area has a couple of lines vertically across the screen and may need to be replaced soon.

Great Place to Stay

We stayed here over spring break this year as it was conveniently located near family and ammenities. We had our two daughters with us and it was nice to have privacy with the separate bedrooms and access to laundry whenever we needed it. The kitchen was very functional and the suite was spacious and comfortable for the four of us. Had the weather been better we would have utilized the two fabulous decks and hot tub. It was a short 15 minute drive to downtown Victoria. We would definitely book this suite again for our next visit to Victoria.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

We had a wonderful time while staying here for a family holiday retreat.
The setting is everything it appears to be in the photos, very fresh and comfortable.
Living in the privacy of the native Garry Oak woodland treetops with views of the Olympic Mountains and the Straights of Juan de Fuca made it easy to enjoy our time together. The kitchen was well equipped and open to the rest of the common space. Short walks to views at High Rock Park and Saxe Point Park were also nice.
When we didn't eat at home, we found the trip to downtown Victoria to be close and full of good options. Thank you Nic for such a great retreat in a beautiful place.

Disappointing

This property has a good location and lovely views but the owners need some more experience in vacation rental to make it a place that is enjoyable to stay in. When we arrived there was not even any hand soap, no dish cloths, an iron but no ironing board, a tub that didn't drain, 48 steep steps on a leaf covered walkway without any hand rails, no broom, or mop, a telephone that didn't work, a leaking dishwasher, no window coverings on half of the windows, a deck that was covered in leaves, a hot tub that couldn't be located for all the debris and lack of lighting, and the list goes on. The property was not clean and not equiped with even the basic necessities and definitely not one we would ever consider staying at again.
After over 20 different vacation rentals, this property was the worst we have ever stayed at. Thankfully it wasn't the first vacation rental we tried or we probably would have never tried one again.
On the positive side, the owners are on site and quick to respond to most problems but one really doesn't want to have to spend their vacation time constantly having to contact the owners to remedy deficiencies.
The listing is not accurate, the property is not clean nor is it properly maintained and likely isn't even up to code. We would not recommend this property.
Owner's Response: Upon arrival our guest notified us of a few minor items that had gone unnoticed (telephone batt, no dishcloths and hand soap). During their stay they requested a bucket for the mop, and indicated that the bath was draining slowly. Again these were promptly rectified.

No mention during the stay was made of the iron board (one is available upon request) nor of the dishwasher leak, but we will investigate it. There was a broom and a mop present in the suite.

The property had been professionally cleaned by our maid service as it is before every stay. We do pride ourselves in providing a clean environment to our guests. The only issue mentioned by the guest was the dirt and leaves the guests' dogs kept tracking in from outside that was making it hard to keep the suite clean. We do not provide maid service during the stay.

The suite's private deck is cleared before the guest arrival, but not during a stay. A outdoor broom is provided.

We have several large mature oak trees on the property; leaves are a continually problem during this time of year. The night our guest arrived, and many times during the guest's stay, strong wind storms aggravated the leaf situation. We clear the leaves several times per week, but do not have the opportunity to do it every day.

Some of our outdoor lighting was not working properly at the time; we have since replaced a few items and installed new ones to ensure all areas are properly lit.

The only uncovered windows are 4 tall narrow windows in the main living space that have been left that way by design to maximize the ocean and mountain views. These have never been covered in the past and have never been an issue before, but we will reconsider if that needs to be changed.

There is a flight of 21 deep and wide outdoor stairs, as well as one flight of indoor stairs that do have a handrail. The suite and stairs are fully up to code, as part of a major 2007 renovation where all work was permitted by the city, inspected and approved by the building inspector. The listing provides photos of the suite as is and are fully accurate.

We have operated this vacation rental for over 4 years, serving over 40 guests per year and have received overwhelmingly positive comments. We have provided apologies for the timing of the issues that occurred, and have tried our best to resolve all the issues to the guest's satisfaction, and even after checking out this guest let us know they had enjoyed their stay.

This place is really awesome. Its modern and clean design makes this a wonderful place to stay.Some places are so filled with stuff that you have to come home to recover No so here. The place is filled with light. The view of the mountains is also fantastic. The pictures really represent the place as it is and not through distortions of size. Arranging the stay was equally quick, easy and reliable. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.
