My wife and I had a great weekend with our 2 friends and 2 of our four legged friends as well...it was so great to have a chance to bring our dogs and have them stay with us too. The place was very clean, very cool. We all loved the bedding and the robes they provided as well as the sweet hot tub!! All in all a great place to stay and enjoy Victoria

great place to stay in Victoria

We recently stayed at Oceanaire, and had a wonderful experience. The location was good, with easy driving access to downtown Victoria, and within walking distance to shops, parks and the waterfront.
The apartment is clean and well equipped with everything anyone would need for a short or long stay. We were thrilled to discover a computer for our use in the apartment. Breakfast food was provided in the fridge when we arrived and the owners were very helpful in finding anything we needed. The large deck was a nice bonus and since the weather was great, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sun and the view. We had a great time and we would definately stay here again.

Gorgeous roof top get-away

Tanya_G2 Vancouver
Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
This was a fabulous retreat for a family weekend get-away. I went with my husband, my brother and my parents to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday.

The suite was as described and had a nice airy feel. The roof top deck was like having an outdoor living room and we spent a lazy afternoon reading in the fall sunshine amongst the tree tops. The interior decoration is modern but has a comfy feeling.

The welcome basket was a nice touch, the towels and robes were soft and cozy and the beds were extremely comfortable. Everything was in good repair and working order. The area was quiet so everyone had a good night's sleep.

We felt like we were staying in a boutique hotel but without the high prices. And even with 5 adults, the suite didn't feel cramped at all.

The location is great - centrally located to visit Sidney, Sooke and Victoria. There are some great wineries, a gin distillery nearby. A highlight of our visit was Sea Cider Farm which was about 20 minutes away - if you are a foodie its a must see.

I think this is better than a bed and breakfast. I'm not the type of person that likes getting up early to make idle chit chat with strangers. We didn't have to interact with anyone the whole time, we found the keys as promised when we arrived and just had to clean up as per the clear instructions when we left. Our check out was handled via email after the fact.

The only minor quibbles I have (and they are very minor) was there was no bath mat in the bathroom, and the kitchen knives were the cheap, dull, serrated kind which can be dangerous. I nearly cut myself a few times while trying to slice carrots. I wouldn't expect fancy kitchen implements, but they should be functional. And the hot tub is down three flights of stairs and near the main road - a bit too public for me. But none of these things affected our stay to any great degree.

The only other thing to point out is that you have to climb a lot of stairs to get to the suite (about 4 flights). So if you have little kids or are older and have trouble with stairs I would maybe pass on this place.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family. I think it is a great deal, in a great location.

Owner's Response: We have recently bough some new knives that are of higher quality then the ones presently in the suite. We will make sure that these are replaced.

The hot tub is located on the front yard by the water gardens. It is located near the parking area but not right adjacent to the road itself. The hot tub covers opens to rest on the side of the tub towards the road, so when open it blocks any views from the road and provides a great deal of privacy. The road itself is a side road leading to a cull de sac, so traffic is very minimal.

As the suite is at the top of the house, there are a few stairs to reach it. The views are well worth it, but you have to be able to walk up stairs.

Relaxing!

travelpost Boulder Colorado Area
Review Submitted: August 28, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My wife, two kids (11 and 14) and myself stayed here for a bit more than a week. The condo is quiet and well equipped for cooking and relaxing after exploring the Victoria area. It is a short walk from a grocery store, several restaurants and an excellent coffee shop (vital!). A nice park is a half block away and downtown Victoria is a quick drive or bike ride away. I would definitely stay again.

We would like to thank you both for providing such a lovely suite to stay in. You have put a lot of extras into making us so comfortable that we didn't want to leave. The deck was great to relax on, the beds fantastic and the kitchen was very well equiped.
