Our 2700 square foot Townhouse in the exclusive Kingswood development is less than 5 minutes from the lifts at the base of Mount Snow. Kingswood has a private shuttle taking you from your front door to the lifts. Shuttle runs Friday-Sunday, holidays, and holiday weeks. Firewood is stocked and delivered to your front door so sit back and relax infront of the fireplace or enjoy the immaculate new recreational center w/ INDOOR HEATED POOL, EXERCISE ROOM, showers, game room, fireplace, wireless internet etc. The Spa at mount snow is minutes away if you want to have a massage or spa treatment. This townhouse has everything you will need for a great vacation. For you snowmobilers, cross country skiers, snowshoers, hikers our townhouse lies on the Vast snowmobiling trail and the Valley Trail for cross country skiin
We had a very enjoyable time. The home was CLEAN and stocked with what we needed for such a large group. Loved that there were plenty of towels for all. It was still pretty close to the mountain and not as disappointing as we thought it may be having to give up ski in ski out. The extra bed rooms and house set up seem to make it worth down sizing. Just wish the house was a little closer to the parking.............makes for a long packing and unpacking trip with all the extras for little ones. But that wouldn't keep us home!!!!!
Property looks new from picture but is somewhat dated and worn inside, but clean and well maintained. Owner gave accurate listing of amenities and all appliances worked. Plenty of room for a party of 10 or 11 people, beds are comfortable and separate climate control on each level.
Side of bathtub on main level is rather high and care needs to be taken not to slip when getting into the tub for a shower and there are no grip bars to hold. Water pressure is excellent throughout the house. Wood available for the fireplace and there is a porch at the rear of the house but the sliding door is extremely hard to open.
The owner was quite reasonable, returned calls and emails promptly and when I spoke to him about renting there was no problem with an early arrival since no one else was there at the time. After getting to the condo, the owner kind of ruined the customer rapport by calling me on his cell to see how things were going and then instructed (kind of demanded) that I wash all the bed linens before leaving and then putting them in the dryer. Yes, of course, I would be happy to stay for 3 hours after everyone else leaves so I can do the linens from 6 beds. Note that doing the laundry was NOT part of the contract agreement with the owner.
Another problem is that you must remove all trash from the condo before leaving (don't know why this isn't included in the clean up fee) but the problem is that the trash bin is very well hidden on a separate road on the opposite side of the condo complex. There was also some repairs/construction going on near the front and back steps of the condo and piles of wood with nails sticking out of them as well as nails on the walkway which is a definite risk for small children or adults walking barefoot, etc.
For those who need to use a laptop, there is no internet service in the condo which in my opinion is now an essential service similar to water, heat, etc. If you need to go online, the rec center has good wifi service. Cell phone service at the condo is excellent.
The rec center is very nice and clean with a workout room, large wonderful pool and games for children. The receptionist at the rec center was very nice and helpful. The condo development is well designed and provides a nice opportunity for walks or jogging.
Very nice area for a relaxing summer respite, good restaurants in the area, especially Nonna's Italian restaurant which has excellent food, wonderful ambiance and is a must place to eat.
Very affordable home that fits a large family comfortably. Our group consisted of 4 couples and 3 singles (mostly late 20s). The shuttle pulls right into the parking lot on the half hour. About 10 minute ride to the base camp. The home was lovely with nice fireplace. I reduced it by half-star because the kitchen could have been better equipped and dining area seats only 8. The owner was responsive throughout the whole experience - so A+. The garbage disposal situation is a little tricky. I couldn't find the common bins and ending up leaving it neatly outside. The owner's cleaning service balked, but we did eventually get our full deposit back. The owner was very cooperative. I would recommend this property.
This townhouse was perfect for what my friends and I were looking for. We had a large group of young adults who were participating in an event on Mt. Snow. We were a little worried about transportation to the mountain but the "Moo-ver" shuttle ran every 30 minutes and on the hour. It wasn't a long ride at all, just a few minutes. The house was accommodating for everyone and the landlord is very reliable and easy to work with.
West Dover is home to Mount Snow ski resort. The owners of Mount Snow have put millions of dollars into developing the mountain into a world class resort as it is their 'premier mountain. It now has 100% snow-making capacity with the latest technology, the most in the Northeast. They have redeveloped the mountain to facilitate better flow patterns and built an entire separate area for terrain park enthusiasts. The surrounding town(s) abounds with nightlife and activities off the mountain. The area truly has become a 4 season destination.
