Moose Mud Lodge features wooded Summer views and outstanding Fall/Winter Mountain views. Very private with only 4 cabins nestled on the mountainside of this small community. Large wrap around deck to enjoy the seasons. Are you seeking privacy, peace and quiet, and a very comfortable clean place to stay along with a place close to the lakes and other fun things to do in north GA, then it is here in Hiawassee. For summer fun you have Lake Chatuge or Lake Burton less than 10 minutes way. Fall colors so beautiful you have to see them in person. Have a funnel cake or take in the sites at the GA. Mtn. Fair, enjoy the Apple festival in Blue Ridge, or celebrate Oktoberfest in Helen. There is nothing more relaxing than a frosty fall / snowy winter morning with a nice fire burning in the fireplace, a comfortable chair, a cup of coffee and a good book or a walk on a cool day when your breath fogs up around your face. Spring is also beautiful with the birds waking you up every morning.

Hiking:: Hiking: Th world famous Appalachian Trail in near-by (about 5 minutes by car)! Take a day-trip or or overnighter and enjoy the great outdoors!

Lake and boating:: Boating: Access to the beautiful Lake Chatuge is free! Towns County has a public beach/playground area that the whole family can enjoy! Access to fishing and boat launching is also free. Our rent boat and jet ski locally!

Shopping/Antiquing/Wine tours/Spa/Horseback riding: There are some great places to shop and just browse! One of the best antique malls in North GA is located in downtown Hiawassee! It has approximately 50 dealers and offers a wide variety of merchandise! Also, a must shopping experience destination is Alexander's Store located just outside Blairsville, GA. As the sign says 'Everything under the sun!' is true - clothes, fishing, hunting, furniture, and just about everything else! North Ga Wine tours are near moments away and there is a new Spa at Brasstown opening fall 2008, enjoy a massage, golf, and Horseback riding... We are 5 minutes from the local Clydesdale horse farm...tour the farm on weekends and see the majestic animals in nature.

Ski: During the season, you're only an hour's drive from some of the best ski areas in North GA and North Carolina! Enjoy a day of skiing and then come home and enjoy soaking in the hot tub!

This is a very private lodge nestled on the side of a mountain not too far from downtown Hiawassee. The place was very clean and looked as if it were newer construction. It had great balconies with a really nice hot tub off the basement. Great views of the mountains from all of the bedrooms and hot tub! The owner was very easy to work with and provided all of the instructions and directions to the cabin several days in advance of our stay. Price was excellent compared to other places in the area. Would recommend to others looking for a private getaway with easy access to Hiawassee and the surrounding area.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

had a great time at the moose just 5 older ladys that like to get away the place was clean and chad was so nice
about everthing the hot tub was big lots of room for us
all to get in at the same time.// we played game . it was close to everthing cant wait to see when the basement
is finshed we will be back in sept. so we can do the water
thing it was cold this time did see snow liked riding
thu the mts there is ever thing to do if you like out doors
and we do/// had so much fun we stayed one more day
