As soon as I opened the front door the house smelled like garbage was rotting in the house. So the first hour I was there I spent my time spraying lysol to deodarize the stench in the house.
The hot tub needed about six inches of water. So myself and another guest had to bucket water from the bathroom to the hot tub. Ok so the next day after sking we got in the hot tub. The next day after all male guests were covered in an odd red painful rash. We took many pictures and researched the rash turns out its a bacteria disease from the hot tub. 1 guest had to go to the doctor because a side effect was vomit and fever.
The Master bed room bed frame was missing supports so the bed sandwiched the parties sleeping in it.
The outside deck was covered with cigarette buts. Prior residents would just toss there used butts on the deck.
When the guest arrived they put there own sheets on the bed.
The house was covered in pet hair.
I went there to go sking so aside from the hot tub rash all these other factors were not a big deal to us.
After we left the owner told me he would not be refunding my deposit. He claimed that there was a sheet missing and a keg on the deck. Yes there was a keg there but the place who delivered it picked it up. No sheet was missing because the sheets were never used simply taken off the bed and put in the laundry room as stated my the owner to do when leaving.
We made the owner aware of the hot tub conditions and sent the pictures over to review. The response given was the we brought the disease there with us.
After going back in forth the owner agreed to refund half of the deposit back. Which was better than nothing. It has been a month later and he has sent no refund. He is not getting back to me and I have tried reaching him several times.
I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
Owner's Response: There are always 2 sides to every story and this group turned my home into a fraternity house. Beer kegs left at the property, beer saturated sheets and parts of the rugs, urine saturated bath mats. My home smelled like a bar after this group. The hot tub was serviced by a spa company the weekend before this group arrived. The only truth to his statement is regarding the cigarette butts. There was a warm up during his stay and there was quite a bit of snow melt. Some past guests did throw cigarette butts in the snow which did not appear until the snow melted. They were cleaned up by my cleaning company prior to the next guests stay.Unfortunately some guests has no regards for people's property. This is the first time I had to keep any part of anyone's security and is was a fair deal considering the condition the property was left in.
