Enjoy the Water:
You'll have both a gorgeous beach and great lagoon access.
We can't say enough about the beautiful sugar white sands and gentle surf. You have miles of peaceful beach lined with houses and bound by a nature preserve on the west, and Lagoon Pass on the east. The lagoon offers great fishing, small boating or jet skis (if you bring your own or you can rent a pontoon boat for a day or kayaks for the week), or nature watching. You'll see pelicans and heron.
Gulf Shores also offers great proximity to a number of nearby marinas where you can charter boats for inshore or offshore fishing, dolphin and dive cruises and more.
Along the main area of West Beach you can even go parasailing.
Boating/fishing:
We have a pier with boat slips so you can bring a small boat or jetskis! We also have good fishing and crabbing from our pier or to our East at Lagoon Pass. The lagoon has speckled trout, croakers, flounder and more.
There is a local company that will deliver a nice pontoon boat for the day, and another will bring kayaks for a day or a week.
For deep sea or in-shore fishing, there are a number of local marinas where you can charter a boat, rent a boat, or take a sightseeing or dolphin cruise.
Family Friendly Activities:
Enjoy a range of education/historic attractions including the National Naval Air Museum, the USS Alabama battleship, historic Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines, the Exploreum and The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo (featured in The Animal Planet television series The Little Zoo That Could) and more.
We also have lots of attractions designed just for fun including Waterville USA (a water and amusement park), Adventure Island, The Track, Pirate's Island Putt-putt, Lulu's and The Hangout restaurants, dolphin cruises and more.
Don't forget the Tanger outlet 8 miles north in Foley where you'll find Coach, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Gap, Juicy Couture, Banana Republic, Tommy Bahama and more.
Go explore nearby charming Fairhope with its flower-lined streets and small boutiques and galleries.
Golf:
Gulf Shores and the immediate area have a number of courses that are open to the public. We have 9 signature courses within a 20 minute radius.
Kiva Dunes is acclaimed as one of the top courses in the state. The Gulf State Park offers one of the most reasonably priced courses and several have afternoon special rates. Less than 10 minutes away are Craft Farm's two Arnold Palmer courses.
