One perfect week at IOP in this nice house

Moni_SC Duncan, SC
Review Submitted: September 22, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We can highly recommend the Blueberry House (now Airy Island House?) for a wonderful stay at IOP.
We (my husband and me , his parents from Germany and our 3 dogs) stood there in the beginning of September for one week and had a great time there. The house is clean and no unnecessary furniture stays around so all of us and especially the dogs never had a barrier to across. The arrangement of the house is very comfortable and everything you need you will find.
Further we found all and much more as described like a lot of towels, linens, blankets, shampoo, spices and kitchenware as well as dishwasher detergent, washing powder, even dryer sheets, paper towels for years, the vacuum and a swiffer wet mop and much much more. The screened porch is an absolutely treasure and we loved to spend the nights there with no bugging at all. The beach is close and very nice and we played like kids in the wavy see.
IOP is also a very nice location because you have so much more around to and have great culinary opportunities nearby.
The owners are very nice people and will help you with everything they can. The recommended some nice things we agree with so you can trust them that they wants to make you feel good in your vacation time there.

Final Conclusion: Our rate for the Blueberry Hose and its owners is excellent!

Beach Relaxation At Its Finest

Reebok Nashville
Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The Blueberry House was a perfect home for two of the finest weeks at the IOP I have ever spent. When I first entered the house, it was spotless! And, oh, those soft, cozy sheets. After a day at the beach, snuggling in them allowed me to stay rested for my next full beach day, which, by the way, was only a short walk away. And guess what? Your comfortable beach chairs are furnished by the owners during your stay. With a television in the living room and both bedrooms, you can stay abreast of the weather and tides so your time at the beach can be maximized.

Not only is the house roomy and cozy but the homeowners are also absolutely delightful. The yard is spacious and fenced for your dog's protection, and the back porch is a rare treat. I spent many evenings there relaxing with my travel partner and dog with the ceiling fan on allowing for maximum comfort.

At the IOP, I always enjoy dining at the Sea Biscuit and Sullivan's Restaurant. In Charleston, Hyman's is a "must do." Also, I recommend going to the Mt. Pleasant Market on Tuesday afternoons for fresh produce and, this year, I enjoyed the Summerville Market on Saturday morning. Don't forget to go to the Mt. Pleasant Seafood Company for several pounds of shrimp that swam in the ocean the night before! They're great while you are on the island and to take back for treats for your friends.

With the Blueberry House's excellent location and ever so accommodating owners, if your party is between 2-5 folks, it is one of the best vacation spots you could possibly find on the IOP. It makes you feel like you live there! My suggestion? Pack your bags and head there just as soon as you can!

Blueberry House is fabulous!

Russhe Greenville, SC
Review Submitted: May 26, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We loved the home and location! It was clean and airy, with beautiful art on the walls and all the amenities we needed in the kitchen, cotton sheets and lightweight down comforters on the beds, and extra blankets for the night that went down into the 50s. The laundry room turned out to be invaluable, as did the vacuum cleaner for sucking up the abundance of sand we managed to bring back to the house. And we were thrilled to find 365 shampoo in the bathroom.

With two kids (7 & 9) and a dog, I was a little worried about staying in a home with a tight layout or a lot of breakables - The Blueberry House was very comfortable and kid/dog-friendly. The beach was a 10-minute walk through a nice neighborhood (the neighbors even stopped to chat as we walked to the beach and welcomed us), and we were thankful for the beach chairs and umbrella provided. The beach was clean and not crowded.

We also discovered that the pullout bed fits nicely in the master closet. Sounds awful, but my 9-year-old son felt like he had his own fort in there - we moved a small table and light in for him, and, with the window, he felt cozy and safe.

The yard was substantial, with plenty of room for our dog to run. Despite the humidity, we really enjoyed relaxing on the screened porch with a view of the yard.

The owners were incredibly friendly and provided useful information for our visit. We highly recommend the home, the location, and these property owners for a pleasant stay in Isle of Palms.

Enjoyed staying at the Blueberry house. Clean & good space in the home, in & out, not to feel crowded. Felt very supported by the owners in case of any need. Great location; easy access to downtown Charleston, yet not in the midst of it, easy walk to the beach. Close to Ile's Marina with water sport rentals available. Good restaurant selections; all price ranges, just over causeway in Mount Pleasant.Try the Gullah lunch buffet on hwy 17. Would recommend and go back ourselves. RR

Terrific Experience!

Schecky Carlsbad
Review Submitted: April 19, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Having been in vacation rentals with books complete with a book of 141 house rules (rule # 141 was "obey the first 140 rules"), I can say that the Blueberry house was a breath of fresh air. The best part of this house is the helpful attitude of the owners - who live close, and went way out of their way to try to please.

We had a four month old and my wife and I and we had a good time at the Blueberry house. For the faint of heart - you have been warned - this house is the blue-est house you will ever stay in. Some would question the 'curb appeal' of the hue of the blue, but once inside the house is functional, and comfortable.

Everything (appliances, etc) is super new, which is nice - everything works, and works well.

It's a legitimate 10 minute walk to the sand, but the house is very nicely located compared to most of IOP in that its very close to the 'connector', which you will spend a fair amount of time on if you plan to spend time in downtown Charleston (20-25 mins away).

By no means is this the nicest rental home on the island, but it may be the best value. I would recommend it heartily.
