This Munich vacation rental is in a building that dates back to 1865. The apartment was fully updated 10 years ago and renovated in 2008. It is located on the ground floor with a private entrance from the courtyard. This apartment is in an excellent location right around the corner from the Sendlinger Tor transportation hub (subways, buses, and trams). You can stroll to Marienplatz or Viktualienmarkt in only minutes. You can easily travel throughout Munich. The apartment consists of 2 large rooms. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed for 2 adults. There is also an L- shaped sofa for reading and relaxing or for use as a bed for your children. The living room has a very comfortable sleeper sofa that will handle even the fussiest of sleepers.
Owners are an American/German couple
With 81 square meters (almost 900 square feet) the apartment is perfect for singles, couples, or a family of four.
Wow, this location is great. It's a leisurely 15 min walk to the center of the city or just a couple of blocks to the metro station. Everything is so close and convenient.
What I think we really appreciated were some of the comforts of home while being on vacation. The grocery store is only 3 minutes away so we could stock up on breakfast foods. We were able to have a nice breakfast, sipping coffee without having to go look for a restaurant.
One of the best features of this apartment is it has a washing machine. We each only brought 1/2 of the clothes needed and washed mid-week. It made packing so much easier! There's no dryer however Anton showed us how to use the drying rack. That worked out just fine with even the jeans drying.
Anton and Patt met us at the apartment and showed us everything we needed. It was pretty straightforward. Patt emailed us information ahead of time to prepare us, like taking the Lufthansa bus from the airport.
Lastly, this apartment is really big. The pictures don't really reflect that. You'll have plenty of space.
The only opportunity may be the shower a bit small.
Book this unit straight away, the calendar seems to fill up fast for this one.
Simplemente ¡¡¡ PERFECTO¡¡¡
WOW, the reviews are 100% accurate. The location could not be better, with a one stop train trip to the Munich Central Station in one direction, and one stop to the Marienplatz in the other. The neighborhood itself is fantastic with several bakeries, grocery stores, bars and tons of dining options (German, Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, etc...). Oh yeah, the coffee shop next door is fantastic.
One more note on the owner, Patt. We are a family of four with two teenage girls. My 14 year old got swollen glands and was feeling terrible one morning. I e-mailed Patt to see what our options were for going to a quick clinic. His response was, "I'll be right there." Within minutes Patt was on the phone with an English speaking doctor, who was at the apartment within the hour. As Patt said, "Doctors here come to you". We were able to get our medicine at the pharmacy down the street. UNVELIEVABLE!!!
If I had 2-4 people looking to stay in the Old City of Munich, this would be my #1 recommendation.
Apartment was perfect for us (a couple with a 2 year old). Lots of space for child to play, apartment was very well equipped and super cosy. It is very close to U-Bahn access (about 3 minutes) and although it took us a while to realize this (poor map reading) the apartment is about 10 minutes stroll from the city centre and lots of tourist attractions so the u-bahn is only really needed for getting a bit further out.
The area was quiet and felt very safe and there were plenty of restaurants, cafes and a wonderful chocolate shop round the corner, Supermarket is about 3 minutes walk away.
Patt was great at communication during booking and for our arrival and Anton (Patt's father in law) met us at the apartment and was the friendliest man, welcomed us in and showed us the house. Great welcome. If we were to head back to Munich (which we just might) we would definitely stay here again.
My husband, two teenaged kids and I stayed at this apartment in August 2014. We had travelled from Berlin to Salzburg and then to Munich for the last part of our Germany experience. We had booked a place in Munich but the owner had cancelled at almost the last minute so we were very anxious about getting a new apartment in Munich—we should not have worried because Patt was so helpful and responsive via email. The apartment was perfect! It was located near the train station and all the sights of Munich. There were restaurants and grocery stores nearby. We were met by the father in law who was a sweetheart and toured the apartment with us to show us how things worked. We walked everywhere in Munich and had a terrific time! The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was our refuge after a lot of sightseeing. If we return to Munich, we would definitely try to get this apartment again! Thanks, Patt, for a great end to our trip. We wished we could have stayed longer!
I stayed here with my sister and friend while staying a week for Oktoberfest. The apartment was amazing, It was spacious, clean and gave is the perfect sanctuary after long nights exploring the city. It was close to the train, and also only around a 10 minute walk to downtown Munich. It had everything you needed from blankets, pillows, pots, pans, and even a washer. Patt was a delight to work with and was a great communicator before we arrived and during our stay to make sure everything was all set. His father in law met us upon arrive to hand over the keys and give a tour of the apartment, he was very nice and informative. Overall, choosing this apartment was one of the best decisions of our trip. I recommend it to anyone visit Munich any time of the year!!
